We now have details about the first downloadable content for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, called Mega Dimension. It will introduce new Mega Evolutions and quests, and for the first time in the series, players will be able to raise their Pokémon beyond Level 100.
As a long-time Pokémon fan, I always thought there was an unspoken rule: Level 100 was the limit. Once your Pokémon hit that mark, it was basically as strong as it could get! Sure, a Level 100 Pokémon could probably take on the Elite Four all by itself, but going beyond that – leveling up to 101 – just wasn’t something you could do.
You Can Go Over The Level 100 Pokémon Cap In Mega Dimension DLC
Okay, I just saw the screenshot, and wow, this new Mega Baxcalibur is insane! Its stats at Level 162 are just… unbelievable. Seriously, we’re not just going over Level 100, we’re completely blowing past it! It feels a little crazy, but in a good way!
The latest trailer for the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC, Mega Dimensions, reveals that Pokémon will no longer have a level cap, allowing players to continue leveling up their team beyond previous limits.
An official blog explained:
Pokémon Legends: Z-A takes players back to Lumiose City, where strange distortions are appearing. You’ll team up with donut chef Ansha and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa to investigate a warped version of the city called Hyperspace Lumiose. This alternate Lumiose is filled with newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon and other rare Pokémon, and some of them are incredibly powerful—even stronger than the usual level cap of 100.
This feature appears to be only available with the Mega Dimension DLC and feels a bit like a temporary boost. We’re still figuring out exactly how it works, but it probably won’t let your Pokémon stay permanently above Level 100 – it’s likely a short-term level increase.
