Many of the missions in Arc Raiders involve fighting different ARC enemies. One of Shani’s quests, called “Mixed Signals,” requires players to defeat an ARC Surveyor and collect a Surveyor Vault from it. These enemies are rare, and you might not have encountered one yet. The following guide details where to find them and how to defeat them, as they tend to quickly move away during combat in Arc Raiders.
How to Find & Destroy ARC Surveyors in Arc Raiders
ARC Surveyors are round machines that move around the map. If you shoot at them, they’ll try to roll away! They appear on all maps, but they’re rare, and because the maps are so big, they can be hard to find.
When a match begins, your immediate priority should be to leave the starting building and scan the sky. The ARC Surveyor often sends out a signal that appears as a brief, blue light in the sky, but it doesn’t stay visible continuously – the signal will blink on and off.
If you can see the machine through the beacon, head in that direction—you’ll soon reach it. Before you get close, it’s best to equip a Showstopper Grenade. These grenades release an electric pulse that briefly stops the machine, giving you about 10 seconds to attack. When the grenade’s effect wears off, you can use another one.
Snap Blast Grenades are a great option if you can get close enough to attach three to an enemy. This will likely defeat them quickly, avoiding a prolonged fight.
When you damage the ARC Surveyor, its outer armor will break apart, dropping pieces you can collect. It will constantly try to escape, but it won’t attack you. Defeating it will reward you with valuable resources, including many ARC Motion Cores and the ARC Surveyor itself, which you need to complete the quest.
