The next Mass Effect game is still in development at BioWare.
Following rumors about its future, Mass Effect executive producer Mike Gamble clarified on the studio’s blog for N7 Day that the next Mass Effect game is still in development. He confirmed that both EA and BioWare are dedicated to continuing the Mass Effect story.
After a very busy few years, Gamble stated that the team is now completely focused on developing Mass Effect.
We’ve got a huge amount of work ahead of us – expanding the world, adding new features, and developing compelling relationships between characters,” he explained. “We’re really enthusiastic about what we’re creating, and we guarantee it will be worth the wait when we’re ready to share it. Thanks for being so eager for updates, and yes, I see you all trying to decipher hidden clues in my tweets – sometimes there actually are some!”
For months, there’s been talk about the future of Mass Effect and BioWare, especially after the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. These discussions intensified when EA announced it was being sold for $55 billion – a deal that would take the company private and add $20 billion in debt. Several BioWare employees have also voiced worries about what this sale could mean for the studio.
We’re curious when BioWare will reveal the next Mass Effect game and what features you’re hoping to see! Share your predictions and wish list in the comments below, and be sure to join the TopMob Discord server to discuss it with other fans.
