Despite these similarities, Luffy has the potential to achieve even greater things than Roger did.

Luffy’s ultimate goal extends far beyond simply becoming Pirate King. He aims to truly liberate the world from Imu’s control and become the new Joy Boy, fulfilling a destiny that carries on the legacies of both Joy Boy and the original Nika, going even further than their accomplishments.
