How to Try All 5 Types of Shroomberries in PEAK

The new Roots update for PEAK introduces a vibrant underground world filled with glowing plants, unusual fungi, and surprising foods. You’ll discover Shroomberries – colorful, berry-like mushrooms that can both help and hinder your progress. If you’re aiming to earn the Advanced Mycology Badge in PEAK, you’ll need to locate and consume five different types of Shroomberries during one playthrough.

How to Find Shroomberries in PEAK

Shroomberries are a new item available in the Roots biome within the game PEAK. They’ll definitely appear on the map until November 17, 2025. You can easily spot them thanks to their bright colors, and they often grow in groups, allowing you to gather multiple berries at once.

Shroomberries are found growing on the ground and on the sides of the large mushroom cliffs in this area. They’re easy to find because of their bright, glowing appearance. Eating one will restore your hunger and give you a little extra stamina, but it will also cause a small amount of spore damage. If you’re already infected with spores, be careful when eating them.

Types of Shroomberries

You can discover five types of Shroomberries in the Roots biome. Each one has a distinct pattern, making it easy to identify.

  • Red Shroomberry
  • Green Shroomberry
  • Blue Shroomberry
  • Purple Shroomberry
  • Yellow Shroomberry

Shroomberries come in several colors, and each color generally has a different effect. Red and yellow ones usually give you a boost – things like faster climbing or low gravity – and can even make you temporarily invincible. Green and blue Shroomberries are usually bad news, though. Purple ones are unpredictable and their effect depends on where you are on the map. Be careful, because while some Shroomberries can help, others might blind you, make you unable to move, or even launch you into the air with a surprising blast!

Some players have also noticed that their effects change depending on the current map.

How to Get the Advanced Mycology Badge

To earn the Advanced Mycology Badge, you need to eat one of each of the five different types of Shroomberries all in the same playthrough. The trickiest part is locating them all before your health or stamina runs out. Since they appear randomly, you’ll have to thoroughly explore the entire Roots biome. Be sure to check tree branches, cliff edges, and even the ground for their distinctive glow.

Cooking Shroomberries, whether on a stove or over a campfire, lessens their harmful effects, making them a little safer to consume.

As soon as you’ve eaten one of each mushroom type, you’ll automatically get the Advanced Mycology Badge and receive the Antlers.
