Sony is holding a new State of Play event just for PlayStation fans. It’s happening soon, but there’s one thing to keep in mind. It’s been a few months since the last event, so fans are already excited and wondering what will be announced.
PlayStation’s last State of Play event was in September and generated a lot of excitement. It featured a new look at the upcoming game Saros from Housemarque, and the very first gameplay reveal of Insomniac’s Wolverine. The Wolverine trailer was a major highlight, followed by a behind-the-scenes developer diary that confirmed Liam McIntyre will be playing Logan. Now, just under two months later, Sony has announced another State of Play is on the way.

PlayStation fans, mark your calendars! Sony has announced a new State of Play event on November 11th, starting at 2pm Pacific Time / 5pm Eastern Time. While details are limited, the show is expected to last over 40 minutes with plenty of announcements. However, Sony won’t reveal which games will be featured beforehand, suggesting this event will be different from previous State of Play broadcasts.
Sony’s upcoming State of Play event, dubbed “State of Play Japan,” will be a 40-minute showcase of games made in Japan and throughout Asia. Hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji—famous for roles like Todoroki in My Hero Academia—the presentation will include indie games, highly anticipated titles, and interviews with developers. The event will be broadcast in Japanese with complete English subtitles.
The vague announcement has quickly sparked a lot of guesses from fans about what might be revealed. Because major game companies like Capcom and Square Enix are located in Japan, many are hoping to see news about Resident Evil Requiem, Kingdom Hearts 4, or the next installment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. With Arc System Works, who are also based in Japan and are collaborating with Marvel and Sony, some fans are also predicting a new character reveal for the upcoming fighting game, Marvel Token Fighting Souls. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out what’s coming.
