Even though he’s still incredibly powerful, he can’t currently defend the village or even himself against enemies like Jura. If Kawaki were to rescue him, Jura would likely try to defeat and absorb Naruto in a fight.

Fans are hoping Naruto remains sealed for a significant amount of time in Boruto. Releasing him now would put him in a fight he can’t win. Unless the creators give Naruto a major power boost – perhaps by making him the host of the Ten-Tails – his return could create unnecessary danger and drama.
