For those seeking an even greater challenge, 11 new badges have been added to the game’s existing collection of 40. While difficult, these badges are a key part of what makes PEAK so enjoyable.
Completing in-game challenges will reward you with cosmetic items. The Plague Doctor Outfit is currently very popular, but it requires completing a difficult achievement. Here’s a guide on how to unlock it in PEAK.
How to Get the Plague Doctor Outfit in PEAK
Players can unlock the Plague Doctor Outfit by completing the Tread Lightly achievement. This is a challenging task – you need to navigate the new Roots biome without letting your spore level exceed 25%.
Spores are a new challenge introduced in the Roots update, and they only appear in the new biome. The biggest threat you’ll face is zombies – a single bite is usually fatal. While you can use items like Cure-All to recover, doing so will prevent you from earning the achievement.
It’s best to avoid the purple clouds if possible. They release spores that will accumulate on you. While it’s okay to quickly pass through them, don’t linger for long.
Experienced players will see brown dots on their stamina bar, indicating spore damage. The area beneath the dots shows how much damage you’ve accumulated, and this increases the longer you remain in a spore zone.
Drinking Fortified Milk before entering a spore zone is a smart move. It provides a short-term shield that protects you from damage.
Whatever happens, avoid Bombshrooms at all costs! They explode on contact and release spores. If you’re hit, heal immediately. Scouts can use a Cure-All, Medicinal Root, an Antidote, or a First Aid Kit to recover.
After completing a run, you’ll receive the Plague Doctor Outfit. You can then find and equip it at the airport.
