Pokemon GO Increases Storage Limit

Pokémon GO is increasing the amount of storage available for players, allowing them to hold more items and Pokémon. As a constantly updated game, Pokémon GO regularly adds new Pokémon to discover, special events, and new content with each season.

Storage space is always a concern in Pokémon GO, especially with new Pokémon and items being added regularly. While players usually have to pay to increase their storage, Niantic recently gave all players a free Item Bag upgrade. As a thank you to the community, they added 400 extra spaces to Item Bags as part of the new level-up rewards. And now, Niantic has announced even more storage space is being added to the game!

Pokemon GO Increases Storage Capacity Even Further

Pokémon GO has unexpectedly increased storage space for players! The app now lets you store up to 11,150 Pokémon, a boost of 650. Your Item Bag has also gotten bigger, increasing by 650 to a total capacity of 10,500 items. If you need even more space, you can buy upgrades in the Pokémon GO store for 200 Poke Coins, which adds 50 extra slots.

It’s notable that Pokemon GO has already received three major storage upgrades this year, 2025. The last increase happened before the annual Go Fest event in June, which trainers welcomed because Go Fest usually introduces many new Pokemon to catch, often with unique costumes. This year’s events also included a three-part Ultra Unlock event and the return of Zacian and Zamazenta in raids.

The extra storage space will be especially useful during the December Community Day event in Pokémon GO. Like previous years, this December’s event will celebrate the entire year, giving players a chance to catch Pokémon featured in past events. On December 6th, look out for Karrablast, Shelmet, Vanillite, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Pawmi. Then, on December 7th, Solosis, Flabebe, Pikipek, Jangmo-o, Rookidee, and Quaxly will be appearing in the game.
