This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
In the dark world of Jujutsu Kaisen, sorcerers protect people from dangerous curses and those who wield them. These sorcerers are ranked by their power, from Grade 4 (the weakest) to Grade 1, which is considered very strong. Above even Grade 1 is the rare Special Grade, a rank achieved by only a select few incredibly powerful individuals – those said to be capable of taking down an entire country. However, characters like Gojo and Sukuna seem to surpass even that highest ranking.
Gojo Satoru
The World’s Strongest Sorcerer
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo is officially ranked as a Special Grade Sorcerer. But fans generally agree he’s far stronger than any other sorcerer in Japan. His power is unmatched, and the only being who could even challenge him was Sukuna, the King of Curses.
Gojo’s incredible abilities, Limitless and Six Eyes, made him an exceptionally powerful and rare sorcerer, appearing only once in generations. Even working together, other top-level sorcerers couldn’t defeat him.
Ryomen Sukuna
The King of Curses
Sukuna was the primary villain in the original Jujutsu Kaisen series. Revered as the King of Curses, he was considered the most powerful sorcerer ever. His immense strength is proven by his incredible feat of defeating and killing Gojo Satoru.
Sukuna didn’t just defeat Gojo; he continued to overpower almost every sorcerer who challenged him. It took a grueling fight to finally defeat him, and his power was significantly greater than that of a typical Special Grade sorcerer.
Dabura
The King of Simurians
Dabura is a recently introduced character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series, appearing in the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo sequel. As the King of the Simurians, he’s established as a formidable opponent. While we haven’t seen the full extent of his power yet, the story strongly suggests he’s a threat on par with or even greater than Sukuna, the King of Curses, potentially making him the strongest character in the entire series.
Yuji Itadori
A Character That Reached Sukuna’s Level
Throughout most of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Yuji Itadori wasn’t a particularly strong sorcerer, especially compared to someone like Gojo. However, he really proved himself during the Sukuna Raid. After being possessed by Sukuna and with some training, Yuji developed incredible powers, including Blood Manipulation and even the ability to use Sukuna’s own Cursed Technique, Shrine.
Yuji ultimately defeated Sukuna, and as a result, he’s become even more powerful than the King of Curses – surpassing even the Special Grade level.
Yuki Tsukumo
A Sorcerer that Possesses the Power to Destroy the World
Yuki was a very powerful sorcerer, classified as Special Grade in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. While incredibly strong, her base abilities weren’t exceptional for a Special Grade sorcerer, and she was ultimately defeated by Kenjaku.
What truly sets her apart is her incredibly powerful ability, Black Hole. It’s considered the most devastating ability in the entire JJK universe, with the potential to destroy the world. The catch is, she has to sacrifice her own life to use it.
Yuta Okkotsu
Gojo’s True Successor
Yuta was a remarkably powerful sorcerer, considered one of only four to reach the Special Grade level, joining Gojo, Yuki, and Geto. Though he didn’t quite match Gojo’s strength, Yuta was considered his destined successor.
After the fight with Sukuna, Yuta continued to improve his abilities and eventually became the leader of the Gojo clan. While the full extent of his power remains a mystery, he was undoubtedly one of the most powerful sorcerers of his era.
Kenjaku
A Curse that Has Lived for Centuries
Kenjaku was a major villain in Jujutsu Kaisen, and largely responsible for moving the story forward. Having lived for centuries, he’s incredibly experienced and powerful, even able to use Geto’s Cursed Technique. He proved his strength by defeating Yuki, a highly skilled Special Grade Sorcerer. After Sukuna, Kenjaku is arguably the strongest villain in the series.
