Lumiose City is full of Pokémon to discover and catch! You’ll find a lot of them roaming in the Wild Zones surrounding the city. But Pokémon aren’t always out in the open – some hide on rooftops, and certain types only appear when the weather is just right.

Finding evolved Pokémon is more challenging, because they aren’t always out in the open. Some, like Umbreon, can only be obtained by evolving a Pokémon, not by finding it directly.

Here’s a guide on how to obtain Umbreon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, so you can add this powerful Eevee evolution to your team.

How to Evolve Eevee Into Umbreon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Okay, so if you’re hoping to get an Umbreon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you’ll need to catch an Eevee first! I’ve been exploring, and the best place I’ve found to look is on the rooftops around Nouveau Café – it’s near Truck No. 2. It’s pretty close to the Pokémon Center in the Bleu District too, so it’s easy to get to!

After you catch Eevee, you’ll need to increase its friendship level. This is how you’ve evolved Eevee into Umbreon in previous Pokémon games, but it’s a little simpler to do in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Once you’ve become good friends with Eevee in the game, you’ll be told it’s ready to evolve. To get a specific evolution, pay attention to the time of day and what moves Eevee knows. Evolve Eevee at night, and make sure it hasn’t learned any Fairy-type moves, to get one result. If you evolve it during the day, or if it knows a Fairy-type move, you’ll get a different evolution instead.

To avoid getting stuck, you can either rest on a bench until nightfall, or explore the city and check out the other Wild Zones to find more Pokémon.

How to Raise Eevee’s Friendship Quickly in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

You can become closer to your Pokémon by battling alongside it, giving it berries, or letting it hold a Soothe Bell. Visiting a café or food truck is the quickest way to raise its friendship level, though!

Just near where you find Eevee on the rooftop, there’s a food truck with a bench. To quickly become friends with Eevee, go there, order a drink like tea or coffee, and spend a little time relaxing with it.

If you get stuck, try restarting this part of the game. You’ll need to visit the café food truck with Eevee several times – around four or five should do it. We only had to do it four times, but it might take you a few more tries.

Keep checking Eevee’s stats after each step. Once its friendship level is high enough, it will let you know it’s ready to evolve. If it’s not ready yet, just go back to the food truck and repeat the process of ordering and resting until its friendship increases enough.
