This article contains MAJOR spoilers for Dispatch.
With all episodes of Dispatch now available, it’s evident that AdHoc Studio has created something truly special. The game successfully captures the compelling storytelling and player choices that made titles like The Wolf Among Us so popular, while also establishing a fresh and engaging world with characters fans will want to see more of. Although a second season of Dispatch hasn’t been announced, the ending of the eighth episode leaves plenty of room for future stories.
Even though Dispatch has several different endings based on player choices, none of them fully resolve the story, leaving plenty of room for a second season. The developers at AdHoc have acknowledged the demand for a Season 2 and say it’s possible. Aaron Paul, who voices Robert Robertson, has also expressed interest in continuing his role. For now, fans are left to imagine their ideal continuation of the Z-Team’s adventures until an official announcement is made.
Things That Should Be Included in Dispatch Season 2
- New dispatcher
- Mecha Man as a dispatchable hero
- A canon ending
- New Z-Team members
A New Dispatcher
A second season of Dispatch could be really interesting if Mandy took over as the dispatcher, but without her superpowers. In the final episode, Mandy sacrifices her powers to save Chase, allowing him to regain his speed. Now that she’s lost her abilities, a new season could explore Mandy stepping into the dispatcher role while Chase holds onto the source of his powers. This would create a fresh dynamic and unexpected challenges.
Mecha Man as a Dispatchable Hero
If Mandy becomes the dispatcher, Robert could finally get back into active field work. With the Mecha Man suit fixed and the Astral Pulse likely back in his possession, he’d have everything needed to lead the Z-Team directly, rather than managing things from the office. It would be exciting to see how the Mecha Man suit’s abilities work within the Dispatch game, and a second season could allow players to experience that firsthand.
A Canon Ending
Okay, so I’m really hoping we get a Season 2 of Dispatch, but I think AdHoc needs to make a firm decision about how Season 1 ends. Like, we need a real ending, no matter if I chose Blonde Blazer or Invisigal. And seriously, what happens with Invisigal? Does she stay good, or go full villain? Honestly, I think the most interesting path for a Season 2 would be if Invisigal did turn evil after taking down Shroud. We could then play as the Z-Team trying to hunt down her and the remaining Red Ring members, maybe even try to save her and bring her back to the good side. That would be epic!
New Z-Team Members
The next season of Dispatch needs some new heroes on the Z-Team, and it would be great to see some reformed villains join the ranks. Characters like Lightningstruck, who was captured earlier in the series, and Thumbstick would be perfect additions. If Robert helps Thumbstick address his issues, he’d be a particularly funny and welcome teammate. While keeping the original Z-Team members, adding these former foes would really reinforce the show’s theme of redemption and build on what worked in the first season.
