Steam is offering a free weekend for Age of Wonders 4, the 4X strategy game, until November 17th. While free-to-play weekends are common on Steam, this promotion for Age of Wonders 4 is particularly appealing for new players, as it includes a special bonus.
I’m a big fan of strategy games, and the Age of Wonders series is always a solid pick on Steam. The fourth one, which came out last year, is still going strong – it’s got around 80% positive reviews right now, and SteamDB shows a lot of us are still playing it regularly. It’s awesome to see a game keep a dedicated fanbase like that!
Age of Wonders 4 Is Currently Free to Play on Steam
From November 13th to 17th, players can try Age of Wonders 4 for free through a special weekend event announced on Steam. This free access includes the main game content. As a bonus, Triumph Studios is giving away the preorder DLC – featuring the Tigran hero Aric Rex, a unique lion armor set, the Athlan crown, and an Imperial Cape – to everyone. For new players, a complete beginner’s guide is available on YouTube to help them learn the game’s turn-based strategy quickly.
A new tutorial video, nearly an hour and a half long, makes the current free event for Age of Wonders 4 a great chance for fans of turn-based strategy games to give it a try. Created with Ursa Ryan, the video explains key features like managing your population and economy – everything you need to know before starting your first empire.
From now until November 26th, you can get the game for half price – it’ll be just $25 instead of $50! The Premium Edition of Age of Wonders 4 is also on sale with a 35% discount. While the game has expansions that add new leaders, civilizations, and stories, those are sold separately and aren’t part of the free-to-play offer.
