Reaching level 90 in World of Warcraft: Midnight typically takes around 11 hours. While playtime varies from player to player, most will likely hit level 90 in roughly that same timeframe. Some might take a bit more or less time, depending on their playstyle and experience.
The World of Warcraft: Midnight beta is now live! Players who signed up and were selected, or who purchased the Epic Edition, can access most of the new expansion content. They can play through the entire leveling experience and test out all the big changes to character classes, up to the new maximum level of 90.
Players Can Reach Level 90 in World of Warcraft: Midnight in About 11 Hours
With the open beta now available, players are getting a good idea of how long it takes to finish the main story and reach the highest level in Midnight. World of Warcraft creator MrGM recently tested this by timing himself starting a new character. It took him 10 hours and 39 minutes to go from level 80 to the new level cap of 90.
MrGM reached level 90 by playing through the entire World of Warcraft: Midnight leveling experience at a normal pace, completing a few extra quests at the very end. While dedicated players who rush the process or skip conversations will likely finish much quicker, it looks like most players can expect to reach the maximum level in around 11 hours.
It will become quicker to level new characters, particularly with the upcoming Midnight update. Similar to WoW: The War Within, Midnight introduces a Warband system that gives a bonus to experience earned by max-level characters. Players can earn up to a 25% experience boost on characters between levels 80 and 90 by leveling five characters to maximum and completing Warband Mentor achievements, which will speed up the process of preparing alternate characters for end-game content.
Players of World of Warcraft won’t have to wait much longer to start leveling up to 90. While World of Warcraft: Midnight doesn’t have a confirmed release date, testing indicates it will likely launch around March 10, 2026. Before that, players can use World of Warcraft: Legion Remix to quickly get their characters to level 80, preparing them to immediately jump into the new Midnight expansion when it’s released.
