Recently leaked footage from the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie appears to reveal the actor playing a key character, and it seems to be a major star from the TV show Severance.
Nintendo has seen recent success with films like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and they’re continuing this trend with a new live-action Legend of Zelda movie. After proving they can create box office hits with their popular game franchises, Nintendo is now working on this ambitious adaptation, directed by Wes Ball (known for The Maze Runner). The film, scheduled for release on May 7, 2027, has already cast the actors for Link and Zelda. Filming is currently happening, and a recent leak suggests we might soon find out who will play a key ally of Zelda.

A leaked video from the set of the upcoming Zelda movie shows someone giving Zelda instructions and a sword. Since only the actors for Link and Zelda are known, this new person suggests additional characters have been included. Many fans believe this character is Impa, Zelda’s protector from the Sheikah tribe, and that the film might be drawing inspiration from her younger appearance as seen in games like Ocarina of Time and Hyrule Warriors.
I was scrolling through Reddit and everyone’s losing it because the actress who appeared in that leaked Zelda movie footage looks exactly like Dichen Lachman! You know, Ms. Casey from Severance? She’s become a really recognizable face lately, not just from that amazing Apple TV+ show, but also from things like Neighbors and Jurassic World. Actually, she was even in Wes Ball’s new Planet of the Apes movie! Now, nothing’s official yet, so we should probably take the leak with a grain of salt. But honestly, if you read the comments, everyone agrees she’d be perfect as Impa!
