Manhwa – Korean comics – have been growing in popularity, though they often get less attention than Japanese manga. However, they’re becoming more well-known, and titles like Solo Leveling have shown they can compete with the best Japanese series. Currently, Solo Leveling is the most popular anime adapted from a Manhwa, but that might change soon. Webtoon and Warner Bros. are partnering up to create anime adaptations of ten different Manhwa series.
Only four of the ten upcoming series have been announced so far, but fans are already very enthusiastic about them. Solo Leveling could face some strong competition in the next few years.
Webtoon And Warner Bros Collab Puts 10 New Manhwa Adaptations On The Way
Webtoon is a leading platform for Korean webcomics, known as Manhwa. While many popular series haven’t been turned into anime yet, a recent partnership could significantly impact the future of Manhwa adaptations.
Webtoon and Warner Bros. are teaming up to create adaptations of 10 popular series from the Webtoon platform. This exciting partnership suggests that we’ll be seeing many more anime series based on Webtoon stories soon.
Currently, the details of the ten Manhwa series that have been announced are still being finalized. So far, fans only know the titles of four of them, but those four are already very popular on Webtoon.
These are the known series, so far:
- The Stellar Swordmaster. A series by Hong Dae Ui and Juno.
- Hardcore Leveling Warrior. A manhwa by Sehoon Kim.
- Elf & Warrior. A creation from AC Stuart and Victor Rosas II

Solo Leveling Is Currently The Most Popular Manhwa Based Anime, But That Could Change
I’ve definitely noticed that Solo Leveling is the most talked-about anime right now that started as a Manhwa. It was already well-liked, but the anime adaptation really took off in 2024 and boosted its popularity to a whole new level.
Solo Leveling made history as the first South Korean series to win Anime of the Year at the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards. This success is expected to pave the way for more manhwa to gain recognition in the future.
It remains to be seen if any new series will become as popular as Solo Leveling, but their success will hinge on the quality of their adaptations and how captivating their stories are. A well-made anime based on a webtoon or Manhwa could become a global hit, which is exciting, but also means Solo Leveling now faces some competition.
