According to a tweet, Wind and Wave will return to the traditional turn-based combat system, but with a more dynamic feel similar to Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While the new Generation 10 Pokemon games are rumored to be moving away from the real-time battles in Legends: Z-A, reports suggest that area-of-effect moves, as seen in Z-A, will still play a significant role in Wind and Wave.
Fans generally liked the fast-paced battles in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, so it might be unexpected that the upcoming Wind and Wave will return to the classic turn-based style. However, it’s smart for Game Freak to try new things with battles in the Legends games, while still keeping the main Pokemon games, which start new generations, more familiar and traditional.
