The latest installment in the popular Battlefield series is getting a new map called Eastwood, set in a Hollywood-like city, which will be available in a few days. The game had a very successful launch last month, attracting almost 750,000 players. Developers EA and DICE are continuing to update the game, and are now giving players a sneak peek at the upcoming Eastwood map.
As a huge Battlefield fan, I’m really impressed with the variety of maps in Battlefield 6! There are over 10 different environments to fight in, from intense, close-up battles in places like Manhattan Bridge to huge, open zones like Operation Firestorm. And the Portal system is awesome – it lets players create and share their own custom maps, which adds a whole new level of challenge. Now, it sounds like they’re about to add even more with a brand new location!
Battlefield 6 Reveals Hollywood-Inspired Eastwood Map
A new trailer for the Eastwood map in Battlefield 6 has been released, and it’s launching in just a few days. Eastwood is heavily inspired by Hollywood and Los Angeles, offering players battles in urban environments, luxurious homes, and typical California scenery. The trailer showcases a golf course within the map, and a new golf cart vehicle will also be available in Battlefield 6. Eastwood is set to release on Tuesday, November 18th.
The new Hollywood map in Battlefield 6 isn’t the first time a major city has been featured in the game. Several maps at launch were based on New York City, including ‘Manhattan Bridge’ and ‘Empire State,’ which offered different views of the famous landmarks. Similarly, ‘Siege of Cairo’ drew inspiration from Cairo, Egypt, providing fast-paced, close-quarters fighting where players could use buildings and the city itself for cover and strategic advantage.
The upcoming Eastwood map isn’t the only big update coming to Battlefield 6. Recent discoveries within the game’s code suggest developers are working on nine new game modes, including possibilities like Convoy, Tug of War, and Payload. With the launch of Eastwood, Season 1 Phase 2 will also begin, introducing the limited-time “Sabotage” mode and several improvements to the RedSec battle royale. Battlefield 6 players have a lot to anticipate in the very near future.
