Despite recent news about the original Red Dead Redemption, there’s still a possibility that Rockstar could release an improved version of Red Dead Redemption 2. A reliable source suggests more announcements regarding the sequel may be coming soon.
On December 2nd, Red Dead Redemption is launching on several platforms with improved graphics, including support for HDR and resolutions up to 4K, running at a smooth 60 frames per second. It’s also coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, where it will work with the system’s mouse controls, and feature DLSS and HDR. Plus, Netflix is adding the game to its streaming service, meaning you’ll be able to play it on mobile devices for the first time.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Still Receive Current-Generation Upgrades
Fans have been hoping for updated versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for newer consoles, especially after a leak from industry insider NateTheHate. One user pointed out that Red Dead Redemption received these upgrades first, questioning Nate’s sources. Nate clarified that this doesn’t mean an upgrade for RDR2 won’t happen, predicting it would likely arrive a few months after the Switch 2 is released. He also noted that Rockstar Games delayed Grand Theft Auto 6, demonstrating they make their own decisions and release dates are subject to change.
NateTheHate accurately predicted earlier that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be enhanced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and also come to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. However, he didn’t have any specific dates at the time. He remains confident these updates are happening, but advises fans to wait for official confirmation from Rockstar Games before believing any release rumors. Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely praised as a top open-world game, and players are eager to experience it on newer consoles with improved graphics.
Good news for fans of Red Dead Redemption! The original game is coming to current-generation consoles in December. PlayStation has confirmed it will be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium members starting December 2nd, and all players will get access to the Undead Nightmare expansion.
