Borderlands 4: Where To Find Minister Screw

Okay, so Borderlands 4 just dropped its first DLC, a Bounty Pack called ‘How Rush Saved Mercenary Day,’ and it’s awesome! It adds a whole new layer to the game because now, instead of just fighting the regular bosses like Genone and the Timekeeper, you’ve got even more challenges to take on. I’m really excited to dive in and see what else this pack has to offer!

You’ll now face a new boss, Minister Screw, who’s stolen all the gifts meant for Mercenary Day. Your mission is to retrieve them, and the only way to do that is through force – prepare for a lot of gun battles!

Good news! Minister Screw has a chance to drop some powerful, unique gear for you to discover in Borderlands 4. Here’s a complete list of everything he can drop.

Minister Screw Location

Minister Screw is a character introduced in the first downloadable content for Borderlands 4. You’ll find him in a new area called the Ministry of Culture, which is located east of the Deep Seven Order Silo in the Fadefields.

There are a couple of ways to get there. You can go through Zadra’s Backup Plan, but I think it’s simpler to go through the Order Silo – you’ll avoid a long elevator ride from the underground lair that way.

You’ll find the entrance to the Ministry of Culture hidden inside a truck parked near the Synthetic Nave. Approaching the truck will transport you to the Ministry. From there, simply follow the path forward until you reach Minister Screw.

To begin here, you’ll need to have accepted and made progress in the “War on Mercenary Day” quest. Specifically, you must have reached the part where Rush sends you to the Ministry of Culture at The Launch Pad. This is required if you haven’t completed this location before.

All Minister Screw Legendary Drops

When you defeat Minister Screw, he’ll drop three items: a pistol, an assault rifle, and a repair kit.

Rowdy Rider Assault Rifle Seems to always spawn with the cryo element. Ricochets two additional projectiles on critical hits.
Inscriber Pistol Each time you hit an enemy, the weapon spawns four projectiles behind the enemy hit.

The new weapons are pretty solid overall, and the Rowdy Rider really stands out thanks to its increased critical hit damage and extra projectiles. The Inscriber is also effective, especially when combined with the Head Ringer Enhancement, which boosts the damage from its explosive trailing projectiles. However, it doesn’t work well with the Airburst firmware.

Tips for Defeating Minister Screw

Minister Screw is a frustrating boss because he’s always moving and sends waves of little toy enemies at you. It’s a good idea to defeat his assistant, Donk, first – that will give you some space to maneuver.

After dealing with Donk, you can concentrate on Minister Screw. How easy it is to hit him depends on the Vault Hunter you choose. I personally found it harder to damage him effectively with Harlowe and the Chroma Accelerator, but Rafa seemed to have more success.

Minister Screw has three key attacks he uses to hold enemies in place while dealing significant damage. He fires a wreath projectile, creates a gravity well, and throws presents around the battlefield.

While he’s attacking, focus on dealing damage and keep an eye on his movements. If he creates a gravity well, use the grappling hook points on the ceiling’s central structure to quickly escape.

When fighting both Minister Screw and Donk, use weapons that inflict shock, corrosive, or fire damage – they’re especially vulnerable to these types. Donk has a shield and two layers of armor, while Minister Screw has a shield, one layer of armor, and a health bar.
