The developers of Final Fantasy 14 have announced a live broadcast called ‘Letter from the Producer’ on December 5th. During this stream, they’ll share details and show gameplay from the upcoming Patch 7.4 update, and will likely include a new trailer.
This Halloween, the creators of Final Fantasy 14 held their 90th ‘Letter from the Producer’ live stream, giving players a first look at the upcoming Patch 7.4, titled ‘Into the Mist’. The stream revealed what’s coming in the update, including a new dungeon, a challenging trial, improvements to the game’s interface, and a significant revamp of the glamour system (character appearance customization).
Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.4’s Second Live Letter Will Air on December 5
The developers of Final Fantasy 14 have announced the date for their last livestream about the upcoming Patch 7.4 update. It will air on December 5th at 3:00 AM Pacific Time / 6:00 AM Eastern Time and is expected to last several hours. While it’s not yet confirmed if there will be a live translator, the presentation slides will include English text.

Although the exact details are still unknown, players have a good idea of what to anticipate in the upcoming Live Letter presentation. We’ll almost certainly see a new trailer highlighting progress in the main story, space exploration, the new dungeon, and the finale of the latest raid. Beyond that, director Naoki Yoshida is expected to reveal new features for Final Fantasy 14, including Phantom Weapons, new jobs and accessories related to the Occult Crescent, the Strategy Board and Command Panel systems, and the removal of level restrictions for glamour customization.
This live broadcast won’t cover everything coming in the next update. Patch 7.5 for Final Fantasy 14 will include the last part of the Final Fantasy 11 crossover raid, updates to player housing, and a limited-time Beastmaster job. It will also begin setting up the story for the next, currently unannounced, expansion. We’ll share more details about these features in a future broadcast a few months from now.
Okay, so Patch 7.4 for Final Fantasy 14 drops on December 16th, which is awesome! But if you’re planning on raiding, you’re in luck – we don’t have to worry about the hardcore stuff over the holidays. The Savage raid, Arcadion: Heavyweight Tier, isn’t unlocking until January 6th, 2026. That means we can actually enjoy Christmas and New Year’s without stressing about progression. It’s the final raid tier for Dawntrail, so it’s good they’re giving us a bit of a break before we jump in!
