So, the Battlefield 6 team did something really cool! They noticed a player couldn’t afford the game, and just straight-up gave them a free copy. Battlefield 6 is huge right now, and it’s awesome to see them doing stuff like this to get even more people playing. It’s a small act of kindness that means a lot, and now one more of us gets to jump into the action!
I can’t believe how well Battlefield 6 is doing! It’s officially the best-selling game of 2025, having sold over 7 million copies since it came out on October 10th. I saw the numbers from Circana – it’s actually ahead of everything else, even knocking games like NBA 2K25, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Borderlands 4 down the list. Seriously, it’s dominating!
Battlefield 6 Hands Out a Free Copy To Fan on Instagram
While sales numbers are strong, even more people are playing Battlefield thanks to the free-to-play battle royale mode, Battlefield RedSec, which launched on October 28th. A recent post on the game’s Instagram celebrating Battlefield being the best-selling shooter of 2025 has gained attention, especially due to a comment exchange. After a fan mentioned they could only afford to play RedSec, the official Battlefield social media team responded by offering to help, and asked the fan to check their direct messages.
Because this fan’s Instagram is private, it’s unclear what happened after a particular message was sent. However, most fans believe the player was probably offered a free copy of the game. Some have also noted that Battlefield 6 will have a free trial from November 25th to December 1st on all platforms, and the message might have been about that. While others think that’s unlikely – the trial details were already announced earlier this week – they suspect EA was simply being generous. This positive gesture is earning Battlefield 6 a lot of praise online, with an Instagram post receiving over 3,100 likes.
Next month, EA and Battlefield Studios could receive some well-deserved recognition. Their game, Battlefield 6, is up for three awards at The Game Awards 2025: Best Multiplayer Game, Best Action Game, and Best Audio Design. While Battlefield 6 also received three nominations at the Golden Joystick Awards, it unfortunately didn’t win any prizes.
