During your gameplay of Atomfall, you’ll eventually encounter a colossal, towering robot. Robots like this are common in Atomfall and can appear in various forms. Among them, the most intimidating is one equipped with flamethrowers for arms, but regardless of their type, all robots pose significant threats as you navigate through the game.
If you’ve ever attempted to interact with a robot, you may have found out that they can be remarkably tough to destroy. Grenades, gunfire, and even massive explosions will barely scratch their outer shell, which could be quite vexing if you need to navigate past them to accomplish a task. However, there’s a significant vulnerability in all Atomfall robots that, when taken advantage of, can render them completely inoperable.
How to kill robots in Atomfall
It is advisable to adhere to a specific procedure when interacting with robots in Atomfall. Avoid throwing explosives beneath the robot or shooting bullets randomly at its outer shell.

As a gamer, instead of shooting randomly, I prefer to focus my attacks on those shiny visors attached to the helmets of the bots. You see, these visors contain their scanning equipment and eyesight. By damaging or destroying them, these mechanical foes will have a harder time pinpointing my exact location, reducing their accuracy in tracking me down. While they might still be able to sense my general vicinity without their vision, disabling the visor gives me an edge in evading their attacks and staying one step ahead of them.
When the robots are unable to see (their visors are out), your goal is still to continue aiming and firing at those areas. Similarly, if you encounter a flamethrower robot, focus your attacks on the fire tanks located on either side of its helmet until both tanks begin producing steam.
After causing sufficient harm to the robots, you’ll receive a message on your Heads-Up Display that reads: “Retrieve Batteries.” When you notice this message, the robot will remain stationary, and more steam will emerge from its body. At this point, make your way promptly to the robot and move behind it. Here, you’ll spot a B.A.R.D. Battery protruding, allowing you to retrieve it by pressing the interact button.

If you manage to remove the battery, the robot will deactivate. Additionally, you receive a complimentary Atomic Battery, useful in the Interchange zone and for various tasks within Atomfall. However, be aware that if you delay removing the battery from the robot, it will automatically recharge and you’ll need to inflict the same amount of damage all over again to try and extract the battery once more.
In the thrilling world of Atomfall, I’ve found that dismantling robots is the one surefire method that ensures they won’t pose a threat any longer. Each model may require a unique approach due to their diverse types, but one constant remains: they all possess a battery that, when extracted, eliminates their menace.
