11 Years After The 4th Great Ninja War, Kishimoto Reveals Boruto’s Biggest Arc Yet

This article contains spoilers from the Naruto series.

The new arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has begun, and it appears to be the most ambitious story arc yet. While Boruto has featured some exciting storylines, none have reached the same epic scale as the best arcs from the original Naruto series. Arcs like the Fourth Great Ninja War and the Pain arc are widely considered to be the highlights of the entire franchise, and some of the best in anime history.

So far, Boruto hasn’t had an arc quite this ambitious, but that looks like it’s about to change. The new arc in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex promises to be huge, with major characters – including Boruto Uzumaki, Kawaki, Sarada, Himawari, Jura, Hidari, Mamushi, Eida, and Daemon – finally taking action. This arc is shaping up to be the most action-packed one in Boruto yet, with the highest stakes we’ve seen.

Boruto’s New Arc Is The Biggest Since The 4th Great Ninja War

The Fourth Great Ninja War was the last major story arc in Naruto, and overall, it delivered on what fans hoped for, despite being quite long. While it had some weaker points, like the introduction of Kaguya Otsutsuki and the disappointing way Madara Uchiha was defeated, it also featured some of the series’ most memorable scenes. Currently, the Boruto series hasn’t quite reached the same level of quality, and the new story arc aims to change that.

The current storyline in Boruto centers around Shinju Mamushi, a remarkably powerful individual. Because of his ability to split into multiple bodies, Mamushi poses a danger not only to the village of Konoha, but to the entire world. Meanwhile, Jura and Hidari are also preparing to take action, leaving Konoha on edge. The ninja will soon have to confront three major enemies.

Currently, Mamushi is the primary focus, but Hidari and Jura are also planning something. Kashin Koji’s ability to see the future confirmed this. Jura is traveling to Konoha, likely because of a threat to Himawari’s life. Koji also foresaw a confrontation between Hidari and Sarada, and both are heading to Konoha shortly.

Major Deaths Will Take Place In The New Boruto Arc

Fans are expecting a lot from this story arc because it seems like significant characters might die. So far, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex hasn’t had any major deaths, but that could change soon. There are hints that Himawari and Eida are in danger, and it’s unclear whether these future events can be avoided.

Boruto’s Latest Arc Will Change The Story Forever

The current Boruto storyline is set to dramatically shift the series’ direction, particularly with the involvement of many of its most prominent villains—everyone except Code, that is. Boruto, Sarada, and Kawaki are almost certainly headed for a battle against the Shinju, and this arc might resolve their stories completely. If that happens, fans could see Sasuke Uchiha return near the end of the arc, which would be a welcome development.

Honestly, I’m so hyped for what’s coming in Boruto! Beyond everything else, we have to remember Momoshiki is still a huge danger. There’s a real possibility Boruto could end up being controlled by him, thanks to that deal they made. If that happens, Konoha is in serious trouble! And it looks like we’re finally heading towards the epic showdown everyone’s been anticipating – Kawaki versus Boruto. Fans like me are on the edge of our seats, and I truly believe this next arc is going to be the most thrilling thing we’ve seen since the Fourth Great Ninja War. It’s going to be sensational!

I’m looking forward to the release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 29, which is scheduled for December 18, 2025. It’s expected to be available around 10 AM Eastern Time, or 3 PM UTC. Like with other chapters, fans can read it for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps when it comes out.
