It’s famous for publishing incredibly popular and influential series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia, consistently delivering hits to each new generation of readers.
With popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia recently finishing, Weekly Shonen Jump is currently experiencing a lull. One Piece is keeping the magazine afloat, but Shonen Jump has already selected several new titles to focus on. Hopefully, series like Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch will become the next big hits for the magazine.
Shonen Jump Reveals The Series That Will Carry Its New Generation
Weekly Shonen Jump faced a significant challenge last year when two of its most popular series, Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia, concluded one after the other. This created a large void in the magazine’s lineup, and the situation is expected to worsen as other ongoing series, like Sakamoto Days, also near their endings.
Weekly Shonen Jump is looking for its next big successes, and it appears the magazine has already selected six new series to focus on. Advertising for these series has been appearing across Japan.
These series are all quite new, with the first one appearing in 2022. They’ve already proven promising for the magazine, and include the following:
- Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono
- Ichi the Witch by Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki
- Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi by Shouichi Usi
- Hima-Ten by Genki Ono
- Nue’s Exorcist by Kouta Kawae
- Shinobi Undercover by Ippon Takegushi and Santa Misarashi
These series have a lot of potential, and Weekly Shonen Jump is working to introduce them to more readers, hoping they’ll become even more popular.

Despite the excitement around these announcements, fans noticed that Akane-banashi wasn’t included. This was surprising, considering the manga is relatively new, having launched in 2022, and has been very popular. It appears Weekly Shonen Jump now considers it an established series, likely because an anime adaptation is already planned for 2026.
Kagurabachi Is Currently The Biggest New Manga
There are six promising series, but Kagurabachi is particularly exciting. Released in 2023, it’s quickly become Weekly Shonen Jump‘s most popular new manga. Despite not having an anime adaptation yet, Kagurabachi is selling exceptionally well, and its popularity continues to increase.

Kagurabachi is expected to be the first of six series to be adapted into an anime. While rumors of a Kagurabachi anime have circulated, an official announcement is still pending.
Weekly Shonen Jump Is In Dire Need Of New Hits
Weekly Shonen Jump isn’t as popular as it once was. Sales have dropped since hits like Jujutsu Kaisen finished, which is a shame. However, this creates an opportunity for new manga to gain popularity and fill the void.

After popular series like Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk finished, One Piece became the new leading manga. Following a similar pattern, My Hero Academia gained popularity shortly after Naruto concluded in 2014.
