Goichi Suda, who many know as Suda51, creates video games with a very unique and flamboyant style. Some of his most famous titles include Killer7, No More Heroes, and Lollipop Chainsaw.
He also established and leads the game development company Grasshopper Manufacture. Their latest original game, not a re-release or remake, was No More Heroes III, which came out in 2021.
The announcement of Romeo Is A Dead Man earlier this year was a welcome surprise. While not every game from Suda51 is a hit, they’re consistently original and refreshingly different from the many similar titles available.

According to the game’s creator, Suda51, Romeo Is A Dead Man draws inspiration from Rick and Morty and explores a ‘what if’ scenario: what if Marty McFly had died in Back to the Future and Doc Brown needed to bring him back to life?
Considering the game is science fiction, this isn’t unexpected. However, it’s still unclear just how deeply it will explore time travel and alternate realities, like shows such as Rick and Morty or Back to the Future.
Romeo Is A Dead Man looks like it will be a thrilling action game, but it’s still unclear if it will be truly innovative.
You won’t have to wait long – Romeo Is A Dead Man is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC in 2026.
