As December approaches, Niantic has announced its plans for Pokémon GO, including special events, raids, and a Community Day. There will be lots to do in the popular mobile game throughout December 2025, and Niantic has shared a preview of everything coming up.
December offers Pokemon GO players a chance to get caught up – whether it’s collecting Pokemon they missed or trying for rare items. The Master Ball will be available again, but this time players will need to buy a special research task to unlock it. Luckily, there will also be plenty of free events and content throughout the month for those who don’t want to spend money.
Pokemon GO December 2025 Content and Events
Niantic has announced what’s coming to Pokémon GO in December. Starting December 2nd with the Journey to Paldea event, players will be able to catch Nacli, and evolve it into Naclstack and Garganacl. The event also features double XP for winning raids and evolving Pokémon, plus a better chance of finding Shiny Larvitar and Shiny Bagon.
Throughout December, the Max Battles in the Precious Paths season will rotate weekly, starting with Darumaka, then Cryogonal, Kabuto, Spheal, and finishing with Omanyte. Keep an eye out for Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom appearing in 5-Star Raids. Heatran will be the featured Shadow Raid boss, and Mega Gyarados, Mega Abomasnow, and Mega Glalie will all be available as Mega Raid Bosses.
I was so excited to hear Niantic announced the details for the December 2025 Pokémon GO Community Day! What’s really cool is they’re letting us catch Pokémon from past Community Days that we might have missed. For two whole days, December 6th and 7th, all the previous Community Day featured Pokémon will be appearing from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. It’s a great chance to finally complete my collection!
With the addition of many new Pokemon, players need enough storage space. Luckily, Niantic recently increased storage limits in Pokemon GO. Item storage increased by 1,000, reaching a total of 10,500, and players can now store up to 11,150 Pokemon if they’ve purchased the necessary upgrades.
