Satisfactory: How to Get Blade Runners

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating through the intricate labyrinth of factory management games, I can confidently say that Satisfactory has truly captured my heart with its immersive gameplay and challenging mechanics. The addition of Blade Runners to this mix has taken the experience to a whole new level.

Fundamentally, “Satisfactory” is a game centered around automation. It offers players the chance to fulfill their dreams of running a factory, translating the mechanics of “Factorio” into a three-dimensional environment that includes depth and height. The game involves a great deal of resource gathering, managing storage areas, and setting up production lines.

At first, the player needs to perform many tasks manually. However, automation is the ultimate benefit, and reaching it requires a lot of effort. Thus, prioritizing unlocking the Blade Runners when starting the game is recommended. The Blade Runners are leg gear that greatly simplify your experience, particularly during the early stages of the game.

What Do Blade Runners Do in Satisfactory

In simpler terms, as players progress through the game, they can create Leg Enhancements, which function like robotic limbs. These mechanical legs enhance your character’s mobility, making movement more efficient.

Primarily, these enhancements boost your running speed by 50%, making you move noticeably quicker, allowing for faster task completion. Furthermore, they double your jumping ability, enabling you to leap tall enough to clear two stacked storage units. Lastly, they reduce the impact of falls, lessening the damage sustained.

How to Craft Blade Runners in Satisfactory

In order to create Blade Runners, you’ll need to visit the equipment workshop. However, before you can use them, you must first unlock them. Unlike many buildings and items in Satisfactory, Blade Runners are not obtainable through milestone tiers. Instead, they are secured behind a research node within the Molecular Analysis Machine, often referred to as the MAM.

In simpler terms, the Multi-Arm Machine (MAM) is a significant achievement you unlock while participating in Field Research tasks. To finish Field Research, you’ll need 300 Screws and 100 Iron Plates. These materials are provided as craftable items during your initial onboarding process at Tier 0. After they’re unlocked, use your build gun to construct the MAM with 5 Reinforced Iron Plates, 15 Cables, and 45 Wires.

  • At the MAM terminal, research the Quartz tree. This will require the player to find a Quartz node first and harvest at least one Quartz. Deposits of this mineral are mostly rock, with pink crystals protruding out of them. Once you have ten Raw Quartz, you can feed them into the MAM, and obtain the ability to scan for the mineral, making harvesting it much easier.
  • To unlock the Blade Runners, you’ll need to unlock the three total research nodes. The first one requires x10 Raw Quartz, the second one requires x20 Raw Quartz, and the node to unlock Blade Runners themselves requires x50 Silica and x10 Modular Frame

Modular Frames become accessible at the second level, during the stage called Part Assembly. This step requires:

  • You’ll need x15 Reinforced Iron Plate, and x60 Iron Rod to make x10 Modular Frame. x30 Raw Quartz will make x50 Silica.
  • After unlocking the research node, you’ll be able to craft the Blade Runners at the Equipment Workshop. You’ll need x20 Silica, x3 Modular Frame, and x3 Rotor (which is also unlocked from Part Assembly).

Once you’ve built the Blade Runner items, move on to your inventory, then drag them into your leg equipment compartment. This will enable you to run quicker and leap higher than previously. To achieve maximum movement speed with Blade Runners, players should master the Slide Jumping technique.

In the game Satisfactory, much like how characters leap consecutively in first-person shooter games (FPS), players can link jumps together. If they squat just before landing, they receive a slight momentum increase, which persists until their next touchdown if they jump immediately after. This maneuver primarily functions on flat terrain or sloping downwards. It requires some practice to master, but once you get the hang of it, your character will seem to soar through the world, barely touching the ground unless ascending a slope.
