Obsidian Entertainment’s fantasy role-playing game, Avowed, which was previously an Xbox exclusive, will be released on PlayStation 5 next month. The PS5 launch will coincide with a major update for the game, adding features like New Game Plus, new weapons, and more playable character races.
The PlayStation 5 version of Avowed, along with a special anniversary update, was revealed at the first New Game Plus Showcase. Avowed was initially launched as a console exclusive for Xbox in February 2025, but will now also be available on PlayStation 5, similar to games like Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
This update adds three new races you can play as: the Aumaua, Orlan, and Dwarves. Players who have finished the main story can now start a New Game Plus, carrying over their progress. Best of all, this update is completely free!
The anniversary update for Avowed and its release on PlayStation 5 are both scheduled for February 17, 2026. Meanwhile, Xbox will be hosting a Developer Direct event later this month, offering a closer look at upcoming games like Fable, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation.
