Hytale’s early access is almost here! Before you can start playing, you’ll need to download the Hytale Launcher.
Hytale will be available on PC with early access starting January 13th. Because they anticipate a large number of players—around a million on the first day—the developers at Hypixel Studios recommend downloading the game launcher beforehand.

How to Download Hytale Launcher
Hytale isn’t available on platforms like Steam, so you’ll need to download it directly from the game’s official website using a dedicated launcher.
Right now, the only place to download Hytale is from the official website. Although it might become available on platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store later, here’s how to get it now:
- Head to the Hytale website using this link.
- Click the ‘Download’ option in the navigation tab at the top of the page.
- Select the ‘Download for Windows’ option that shows.
- The installer for the launcher will now be available in your PC downloads folder.
When Hytale launches, the download servers might get overloaded, causing issues. To avoid problems, it’s best to download the launcher right away when it becomes available.
How to Install Hytale Launcher
Just downloading the game isn’t enough. Unlike Steam, you have to completely install the game launcher first before you can actually play.
Here are the steps on how to do that.
- Follow the steps outlined above to download the Hytale launcher.
- From your PC’s downloads folder, open the downloaded file.
- Hit ‘Next >’ on the first pop-up of Hytale Launcher installation.
- Choose the install location for the Hytale Launcher and click ‘Next >’
- Choose the install location for Hytale’s game files and select ‘Install’.
- Wait for the process to complete, then select ‘Next >’.
- Select the ‘Finish’ button on the final page.
If you download the Hytale launcher before the game officially launches, you won’t be able to play just yet. It will simply remind you to check back on January 13th when the full game is available for download.
