Another fan’s mother stumbled upon an equally amazing find while tidying their home – a Venusaur booster pack from the Base Set, which was the first expansion for the English version of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and was released in 1999. Reddit user Assault_Squirtle discovered three boxes containing Pokémon: The First Movie-themed booster packs from Topps. They mentioned that these boxes had been stored in their building and were purchased by their mother. Upon opening one of the packs, they found the cards to be unusually sticky, a characteristic of Topps’ releases. Fans suggested that they open more packs, but Assault_Squirtle stated that they don’t feel the need to, as they already have a complete collection stored in an old binder. Other users pointed out the $1.99 price tag on one of the boxes, which is significantly lower than current Pokémon card prices.
