Wattrel, the Electric/Flying-type Pokémon first seen in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, is now appearing in Pokémon GO as part of the High Zaptitude event. Players will be able to catch Wattrel, and also evolve it into Kilowattrel within the game.
The High Zaptitude event begins today, January 13th, at 10 am local time and ends on January 18th at 8 pm local time. Here’s what you need to know to catch Wattrel!
How to Get and Evolve Wattrel in Pokemon GO
Wattrel is a new Pokémon being introduced during this event, but you can only find it by completing the second Global Challenge. Currently, players are working together to explore a total of 40 million kilometers in the first challenge. If they succeed, everyone will earn double experience points when catching Pokémon.
To check your progress in the challenge, tap the Binoculars icon at the bottom-right of the map. Then, go to the Events tab and scroll down to find the details.
After you finish the second Global Challenge, Wattrel will begin appearing randomly in the wild. You can also unlock a Wattrel encounter by completing a Field Research Task that becomes available once you’ve completed the level 2 challenge.
Once you’ve collected enough Wattrel, Pokémon GO players can evolve it into Kilowattrel by using 50 Wattrel Candy. To get candy faster, use Pinap Berries when you catch Wattrel, or set it as your Buddy Pokémon.
