Nexon announced yesterday that Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter game, has sold over 2.4 million copies this year, pushing its total sales to 12.4 million units since its launch.
Nexon announced yesterday that their game, developed by Embark Studios, had sold 10 million copies by the end of December 2025, just under two months after it launched in October. The game, Arc Raiders, also recently reached a peak of 960,000 players at the same time.
Nexon CEO Lee Jeong-hun expressed great satisfaction with the positive reception and strong player engagement Arc Raiders is receiving in key global markets.
Since its release last fall, Arc Raiders has quickly become a popular extraction shooter, earning numerous awards including Best Multiplayer Game at the Game Awards, PC Gamer’s Game of the Year, and Most Innovative Gameplay from the Steam Awards.
Arc Raiders has successfully attracted players who weren’t previously interested in extraction shooters. Its easy-to-learn gameplay, unique visual style, and exciting, suspenseful missions have appealed to fans of other shooting games, particularly those who were getting tired of battle royales or hero shooters. For many, it’s been a great introduction to the extraction genre, sparking renewed interest and building excitement for future games like Bungie’s Marathon. The game keeps players engaged with its depth and fresh approach, even after many hours of play.
The continued success of this online shooter depends on regular, high-quality updates after its initial release. The latest update addressed frequently requested changes, including reducing the power of the popular Trigger Nade and limiting how quickly the Kettle weapon could be fired to prevent unfair advantages. It also added the awaited Abyss cosmetic bundle. Although some players are still reporting bugs and imbalances, the update shows the developers are committed to improving the game and listening to the community as it evolves.
