How to Get Iron Ore and Iron Ingots in Hytale

Iron Ingots are a key item in Hytale, used to craft many essential tools, workstations, and building blocks, especially when you’re first starting out. A core part of the game involves finding Iron Ore, mining it, and then turning it into usable Iron Ingots.

This guide will show you where to find Iron Ore and how to turn it into Ingots at your base. Here’s a simple breakdown of the process.

Where to Find Iron Ore in Hytale

Iron Ore Location

In Hytale, you’ll start finding Iron Ore quite often around 40 to 60 blocks underground. It looks like white and gray stone with reddish streaks. You can mine it with a Crude Pickaxe, but a Copper Pickaxe is better because it’s faster and won’t wear out as quickly.

Bring a Repair Kit or an extra Pickaxe with you when setting out on a lengthy expedition.

Although you can sometimes find iron near the surface, these deposits are uncommon and spread out. For significant amounts of iron ore, mining underground is the most effective method.

In Hytale, players can find Iron by digging straight down or exploring natural caves. Caves are generally the quicker option, as searching them is usually faster than digging for ore yourself.

How to Craft Iron Ingots in Hytale

In Hytale, you can create Iron Ingots by smelting Iron Ore in a Furnace. First, you’ll need to build a Furnace – it’s a structure designed to transform ores into ingots.

How to Make a Furnace in Hytale

You can craft a Furnace at a Tier 1 Workbench in the Crafting section. To make a Workbench, you’ll need 4 Tree Trunks and 3 Stone, and you can craft it through the Inventory menu.

After you’ve made a Furnace, put it in your hotbar. Select it using the corresponding hotkey, then right-click to place it in the game world.

Fuel + Iron Ore = Iron Ingot

To create Iron Ingots, first add a fuel source – like Charcoal, Wood, or Plant Fiber – to the Fuel Slot. Then, put the Iron Ore into the Input slot. Finally, click the “Turn On” button to begin smelting, and the Iron Ingots will appear in the Output column.

Iron Ingots have a 1:1 output ratio, meaning you get 1 Iron Ingot for every 1 Iron Ore you put in.

As a Hytale player, I’ve found that Iron Ingots are super important early on because you can use them to make a Backpack Upgrade. Seriously, it’s one of the most helpful things you can craft when you’re just starting out!
