Ubisoft is likely about to announce remakes of two popular games: Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia. As a major gaming company, Ubisoft creates a wide range of well-known franchises, including Rainbow Six, Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, and Rabbids. It appears they have even more exciting projects planned for fans in the near future.
Ubisoft has many projects planned for 2026, including new installments in its most popular franchises. Several games are in development under the Tom Clancy brand, like Rainbow Six Mobile, which launches in February, and the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division 3. The Assassin’s Creed series is also getting a lot of attention, with Assassin’s Creed Jade designed specifically for mobile devices and Assassin’s Creed Hexe planned as a major new release. In addition to these new titles, Ubisoft is also remaking one of the most popular Assassin’s Creed games, along with another of its well-known titles.
Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia Announcements May Be On The Way
According to Ubisoft leaker Zephryss, we might hear some exciting news from Ubisoft soon. Updates to the website for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake suggest a public reveal is coming. Additionally, Ubisoft has been re-posting the soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag on YouTube, fueling rumors about a remake of that popular pirate-themed game. Ubisoft previously stated the Prince of Persia remake is planned for 2026, but hasn’t officially announced anything about a new Assassin’s Creed game.
Okay, so Ubisoft finally confirmed the Prince of Persia remake, which is awesome! But honestly, everyone’s been talking about the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake – or Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced as it seems it’ll be called – for ages. There have been so many leaks and rumors floating around, it wasn’t really a secret anymore! It’s even rumored that some content cut from the original Black Flag might be coming back. Things got a little crazy when the actor who played Edward Kenway, Matt Ryan, jokingly mentioned the remake and Ubisoft threatened legal action! Plus, fans actually found out Ubisoft registered the game’s domain name back in January, so a full reveal felt inevitable. It’s been a wild ride leading up to this!

There’s been a lot of talk that the Prince of Persia remake could come out in January, and Ubisoft might surprise everyone by releasing it right after the announcement. People are also guessing when the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake will be available, possibly around March, which is near the end of Ubisoft’s current fiscal year. Ubisoft hasn’t officially said anything about announcements or livestreams, but it’s likely both remakes will be revealed at the same time.
Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series have more than just a potential remake to anticipate. Ubisoft first hinted at Assassin’s Creed Hexe back in 2022, describing it as a unique addition to the franchise. Rumors suggest Hexe will be set during the 1600s Germanic witch trials, starring a female lead and featuring a dark, atmospheric story focused on revenge. With both significant remakes and promising new games in development, 2026 looks like a major year for Ubisoft and the Assassin’s Creed universe.
