A unique combination of popular franchises has resulted in the “Millennium McQueen” – a LEGO build that blends elements of Cars and Star Wars. LEGO has always encouraged building and imagination, from simple bricks that let kids create anything they can dream up, to massive, detailed sets for adult collectors who love recreating iconic scenes. There’s also a sweet spot in between: smaller, more affordable LEGO sets that still allow for plenty of creative fun.
LEGO has released many impressive sets recently, from incredibly expensive ones like the $850 Millennium Falcon to smaller, more focused builds. The new 2026 LEGO Speed Champions Lightning McQueen, based on the popular Pixar Cars movie, is a great example of the latter. It’s packed with detail for just $28, which is a reasonable price for a LEGO set. This affordability has inspired one fan to get creative and accomplish two goals at once.
LEGO Lightning McQueen and Millennium Falcon Hybrid
A Reddit user named Minute_Food_2881 cleverly built a Millennium Falcon replica using only the pieces from a single LEGO Lightning McQueen set. He calls it the “Millennium McQueen.” People on the LEGO subreddit were impressed by his creativity, with many sharing humorous comments, like asking if it could complete the famous “Kachow Run” in under twelve parsecs.
It’s not unusual to see LEGO sets creatively rebuilt into something completely different. Just recently, a fan of Stranger Things turned a LEGO Orchid set into a Demogorgon. This same builder, who also created a unique Millennium Falcon, shares many of their alternate LEGO creations online. One impressive build transformed a less expensive Millennium Falcon set into the USS Voyager from Star Trek. Other LEGO fans on Reddit have been requesting all sorts of new builds, including one to compete with the recently leaked Legend of Zelda set, and even a suggestion to rebuild the USS Voyager as a Millennium Falcon.
We don’t know if this is the last amazing LEGO creation we’ll see, but with the new Pokémon LEGO sets already being resold online at high prices, fans might need to depend on each other for cool, unique ideas. LEGO is trying to limit how many sets people can buy to address this issue, but for now, these custom builds offer a temporary solution. It also makes people think about how much LEGO sets cost and whether they’re worth the price, especially when fans have to make sacrifices to afford them. Regardless, it clearly shows that the LEGO community will always be full of incredible creativity and imagination, thanks to this enduring toy.
