Responding to calls for action from prominent streamers, Embark Studios is now permanently banning those caught cheating.

A popular streamer, TheBurntPeanut, recently threatened to stop playing if the issue wasn’t quickly resolved, stating he was repeatedly targeted by the same hackers. Although he later clarified his statement was made in the heat of the moment and acknowledged Embark’s efforts, the studio has responded by beginning to permanently ban cheaters, indicating they are taking the complaints seriously.

The game ARC Raiders started punishing cheaters earlier this month, but players were upset that the punishments were only temporary. After streamers like TheBurntPeanut voiced their concerns, the game developers now seem to be issuing permanent bans to cheaters. Another streamer, Thump, shared that a cheater was permanently banned after TheBurntPeanut spoke out, saying, “After a month of no action, your feedback made the difference in them finally taking action. Keep speaking up!”

TheBurntPeanut is currently one of the most popular streamers playing ARC Raiders, but he’s not alone in his frustration with cheaters. Earlier this month, Shroud, a former professional player of Counter-Strike and Valorant who also streams ARC Raiders, stated that the game’s developers, Embark, seem unable to manage the cheating problem. Like Peanut, Shroud strongly criticized ARC Raiders and warned he might stop playing if the issue isn’t addressed. While all players are affected by cheaters, streamers face an extra problem: hackers often target them directly during streams, making each game almost unplayable.

This update is a significant move in Embark’s efforts to combat cheating in their games, and they plan to continue improving their anti-cheat systems. While the studio hasn’t shared its plans for ARC Raiders beyond 2026, a developer recently announced that several new maps will be released in the next year. There’s also talk of a new ‘Toxic Swamp’ map modifier potentially arriving as soon as next week, though Embark hasn’t confirmed this yet.
