This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
Devil Fruits are a key part of the world of One Piece. From the very start of the story, these fruits were shown to grant incredible powers to anyone who eats them, but at the cost of their ability to swim. As the story progressed, it became clear that Devil Fruits came with a wide range of abilities. Some transform the user into an animal, others give control over elements like fire or water, and still others grant powers that are unique and don’t fit neatly into those categories – these are called Paramecia types by the creator, Oda.
From the beginning of One Piece, it was obvious that Devil Fruits were the main source of power, giving anyone who ate them unique and incredible abilities. Over the past 28 years, the author, Oda, has introduced many powerful Devil Fruits. Now, in the final part of the story, Oda is revealing fruits with legendary origins. Recently, in the Elbaf arc, a Devil Fruit belonging to Loki, the infamous prince of Elbaf, was revealed. Many fans believe this fruit could be the strongest one in all of One Piece.
Loki’s Legendary Devil Fruit Might Be The Most Overpowered One Yet

- Loki’s Fruit Belongs To The Mythical Zoan Class
- Loki Is A Monster Stronger Than Harald
I’ve been following the discussion about Loki’s Devil Fruit, and honestly, the potential of its powers seems incredible. We got our first hint of it around the start of the Elbaf arc, but at the time, we didn’t actually see what it could do. All we had were the reactions of the people living in Elbaf, and even from their descriptions, it was clear this fruit was something special – maybe even too powerful.
The people of Elbaf tell a story about Loki, claiming he murdered his father and stole a powerful Devil Fruit from their land. What makes this tale particularly striking is their belief that Loki could use this fruit to destroy the world. This bold claim gains credibility because it’s supported by figures like Scopper Gaban, a trusted advisor to the Pirate King.
Loki Managed To Gain Ragnir And Eat Elbaf’s Fruit
Until recently, in One Piece chapter 1170 of the Elbaf arc, fans hadn’t fully grasped how strong Loki’s Devil Fruit ability truly is. This chapter showed Loki battling his father, King Harald, and highlighted that he was already incredibly powerful before gaining the fruit – he could even use Conqueror’s Haki infusion. He proved his strength by fighting Ragnir, who had guarded the legendary Elbaf Devil Fruit for centuries and prevented Harald from eating it. Remarkably, Loki earned Ragnir’s respect and was then allowed to consume the fruit himself.
Eating this Devil Fruit dramatically increased Loki’s power, reaching a level not seen in the world of One Piece for many years. He became so powerful that he easily defeated Harald in battle, and ultimately killed him when he had the chance. While this might not seem impressive at first, considering Harald’s immense strength reveals just how remarkable Loki’s victory was.
Loki’s Raw Power Surpasses That Of Rocks And Harald
- Harald And Rocks Were Elites Of The Old Era
- Loki Is Stronger Than Both
Seeing Loki’s power in One Piece Chapter 1170 makes it clear he’s now stronger than both Rocks and Harald. To get a sense of just how powerful Loki has become, it’s helpful to consider the strength of Harald and Rocks themselves.
The flashback revealed that Harald and Rocks were equally powerful. Their initial clash of Conqueror’s Haki completely devastated a 5-kilometer area on the Red Line. They fought several times after that, with Rocks repeatedly trying to recruit Harald to his crew, but Harald always refused. Their final fight was brutal, leaving both warriors bloodied and exchanging heavy blows. However, neither one definitively won, and Oda consistently presented them as equals.
The Five Elders are describing King Harald as radiating immense power – a power so great it’s terrifying. They believe he’s become immortal, a truly chilling realization. He’s surpassed the level of a mere monster; now, he’s a force of destruction, a living weapon. — The Five Elders on King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168
Harald and Rocks held each other in high regard, with Rocks seeing Harald as an equal, even someone superior to figures like Whitebeard. Considering they were established as equals in the story, it’s also important to remember that Harald became even more powerful after Rocks’s death. Imu granted him the power of the Deep Sea Covenant, which likely boosted his abilities to match the enhanced version of Rocks’s Domi Reversi at that time.
Loki defeated Harald – and Harald was actually even more powerful than Rocks. Loki’s immense strength, boosted by his Devil Fruit, allowed him to easily overpower and ultimately defeat Harald. Basically, Loki’s incredibly strong abilities let him surpass even figures like Rocks and Harald.
What Is Loki’s Devil Fruit?
It’s hard to know exactly what kind of Devil Fruit power Loki possesses, but most fans agree it’s a Mythical Zoan type within the world of One Piece. Given Loki’s name, his ability will likely connect to Norse mythology, just like Oda did with Ragnir, who was based on a mythical squirrel. Oda has already showcased elements of Norse mythology in the Elbaf arc, specifically highlighting Nidhogg, a lightning dragon, and Fenrir. Either of these creatures would make a fitting Devil Fruit power for Loki, but ultimately, Eiichiro Oda will choose only one.
I am the Sun God, a legendary figure in this land. Mortal, you must not address me without my consent. I am the strongest being in the Lands. This is Warland, the kingdom of Elbaf – a nation once defined by constant warfare, and the most powerful in the world. I am Loki, and I will bring this world to its end!
Niddhogg Is A Big Possibility
Considering where the story is now, many fans believe Loki’s powers might be connected to Niddhogg, a powerful lightning dragon from Norse mythology. In the myths, Niddhogg sleeps at the roots of the Yggdrasil tree, and this mirrors Loki’s own imprisonment chained to the roots of the Adam Tree, creating a strong parallel. Plus, Loki’s hands transforming into claws would fit with him being a dragon. However, the biggest issue with the Niddhogg theory is that the silhouette of Loki didn’t show any wings, which is a key detail. Because of this, many fans are now exploring the possibility that Loki’s powers are linked to Fenrir instead.
Fenrir Is Another Possibility
Considering Loki’s Devil Fruit, one strong possibility – and currently the most likely – is that it’s based on Fenrir. Fenrir is a legendary wolf from mythology, and its abilities would suit Loki well. The silhouette we’ve seen of Loki suggests sharp claws, which would align with Fenrir, and even appears to show a snout – another fitting characteristic of the mythical wolf.
This legendary creature is known for its immense power, even capable of defeating gods in Norse legends. It explains why Loki gained such incredible abilities after eating the Fenrir Devil Fruit, and fans are eagerly anticipating its reappearance in the upcoming Elbaf arc of One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, One Piece, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure, the One Piece.
