In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, players won’t just be fighting off infected people. Later in the game, you’ll meet Stuart, a neurobiologist, who needs help with an experiment. He’s already got one zombie part and needs you to find four more. This is an optional quest, and it requires careful exploration if you want to complete the ‘Modern Prometheus’ storyline in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check.

How to Start the Modern Prometheus Quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

You can start the “Modern Prometheus” quest on Day 20 in the “Quarantine Zone: The Last Check” area. To begin, you’ll need to examine all the survivors at the checkpoint. Look for someone with a backpack – it will contain a golden soda bottle collectible and a zombie head. Finding the zombie head means that survivor will need to be eliminated immediately.

Although the character will appear with a randomly generated name, the quest ‘Modern Prometheus’ reveals their real name is Stuart.

When you examine the backpack, the character will explain why he’s carrying a zombie body part. This begins the “Modern Prometheus” quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check. To complete the quest, you’ll need to find four zombie parts for Stuart, and you can actually get one right from his own backpack.

Once you’re done, make sure to send Stuart to the Survivor Block to progress the quest.

Doing any of the following actions will lock you out of completing this quest.

  • Failing to check/interact with the backpack contents of the quest NPC (Stuart).
  • Sending the quest NPC to liquidation according to the checkpoint rules.
  • Allowing Stuart to evacuate with other survivors (players will be warned via in-game notification).
  • Failing to collect all Zombie Parts before the Evacuation on Day 25.
  • Mistakenly sending an infected survivor to the Survivor Block, which can potentially kill Stuart, leading to quest failure.

If you haven’t met Stuart or begun the Modern Prometheus quest, you can restart the day, but only if it’s still Day 20.

How to Find Zombie Parts for Stuart in Modern Prometheus Quest

Okay, so once I send Stuart over to the Survivor Block, I’ve got a new job: checking everyone’s backpacks at the Checkpoint. It’s kinda shady, but I need to grab four zombie parts from each survivor. The catch? I’ll get hit with a $100 fine for every single part I take, so I gotta be careful!

Gathering all the zombie parts for Stuarts will likely take about 24 days. But on Day 21, you’ll need to move all survivors out of the base using either the Science Truck or the Military Truck. Importantly, leave Stuart at the base during the evacuation. If you’ve forgotten who Stuart is, a reminder will appear when you look at the list of characters – he’s needed for a quest.

Completing Modern Prometheus Quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

After collecting all four zombie parts, bring them to Stuart in the Survivor’s Block. He’ll be grateful, but you’ll have to wait a full day before he gets back to you.

As you move on to the next day, you’ll notice sirens sounding around the base – there’s been a zombie outbreak in the Survivor Block. Grab your handgun and clear out all the zombies there. It turns out Stuart’s experiment failed, and he accidentally turned himself and other survivors into zombies.

Once you’ve defeated the zombies, go to the quest marker. You’ll receive $500 and a black case with Stuart’s head inside – a collectible item – for finishing the Modern Prometheus quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check.
