Explore the enchanting world of Where Winds Meet, a land brimming with magic and adventure! The new Hexi desert region offers a rich RPG experience and, like other areas in the game, provides players with multiple paths to complete the main story.

You’re free to focus on the main story and complete quests one after another, or explore the world and discover optional side stories. ‘A Tassel and a Tale‘ is just one example of these smaller adventures, and completing them can lead to even more discoveries.

How To Get The Red Tassel

“A Tassel and a Tale” is a side quest in the Wandering Tales series. You can start it by exploring the Ayisu area within the Jade Gate Pass region of Hexi.

If you go to the Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone, you’ll see a man named Li sitting nearby. He’ll tell you he’s collecting red tassels, but he’ll only give his to someone named Granny Pan.

Li will never willingly give you the red tassel. But if you sneak behind him while he can’t see you, you can use the ‘Celestial Sieze’ skill to steal it from his pocket without him knowing.

You can then take the red tassel to Granny Pan yourself.

Don’t venture too deep into the ruins of Squarewall Hold. There are dangerous Utuk Raptors there that you aren’t strong enough to beat right now.

How To Find Granny Pan

To locate Granny Pan, travel northeast from the Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone in the direction of the Heroic Tomb. You’ll find her and Young Yichao near the red flowers. They’ll share the tale of the red tassels and explain how finding them can help you pay respects to those who have passed.

Once you’ve talked to these people, they’ll ask you to hang a red tassel on the spear nearby. Doing so will start a new quest called “The Final Retreat,” which takes place in the ruins of Squarewall Hold village. Completing this quest will make the area safe to explore.
