Key Highlights
- Polymarket has launched a new token, pUSD, which is basically USDC with slightly more existential dread. It’s now your trading collateral. Good luck.
- $1 million in liquidity rewards are being thrown at early adopters like confetti at a crypto-themed apocalypse. Half of it is up for grabs in the first two hours-because patience is overrated.
- Developers, your old SDKs are now as useful as a chocolate teapot. Update or be haunted by ghosts of legacy code forever.
Polymarket, the prediction market platform that somehow convinced people that betting on global events is a hobby, has finally activated its upgraded CLOB v2 exchange. In a stunning twist of fate, the public website is “coming back shortly”-a phrase that may or may not mean it will return before the heat death of the universe.
The upgraded CLOB v2 exchange is up. APIs are accepting orders now; the public website will reopen shortly.
$1M in liquidity rewards running now: $500K across the first 2 hours, $500K across the rest of the day.

After a one-hour maintenance window (during which the universe presumably reset itself), Polymarket is offering $1 million in liquidity rewards. Because nothing says “trust us” like throwing cash at strangers in the hope they’ll trade with you.
Details of the new upgrade
The upgrade includes new exchange contracts, a rewritten CLOB backend, and pUSD-a token so stable it could probably outlast a glacier. It’s an ERC-20 on Polygon, backed 1:1 by USDC, and enforced on-chain. If that sounds like a solution in search of a problem, you’re not wrong.
Users are now being asked to convert their balances to pUSD. This is a one-time process, but if you’re a retail trader, you’ll probably do it because deep down you’re terrified of missing out on the next big thing. Or the next big collapse.
CLOB v2 also “simplifies” order structures by removing fields like “nonce” and “feeRateBps.” Trading fees are now decided by the operator, because why let users decide anything when you can centralize the chaos?
Developers and professional traders are being told to update their SDKs. If you don’t, you’ll be stuck in the past, where things like “legacy systems” and “nonces” still matter. Enjoy the nostalgia!
The incentive program
Polymarket’s $1 million liquidity rewards program is a mad dash for cash. Half is up for grabs in the first two hours, the other half later. This is designed to attract market makers like moths to a flame-or, more accurately, like gamblers to a rigged casino.
For regular users, the transition is “smooth,” but if you’re an API user or institutional market maker, you’ll need to complete integrations in advance. Because nothing says “smooth” like a last-minute panic.
The new system promises faster order matching, less latency, and improved liquidity. Whether it delivers depends on whether the universe is in a generous mood today.
Trading upgrade
CLOB v2 is a technical marvel in the world of prediction markets. With pUSD, simplified orders, and a shiny new backend, it’s all about performance and liquidity. Whether it sticks depends on how many people forget their passwords to pUSD wallets. (Spoiler: a lot.)
Accompanied by $1 million in rewards, this upgrade is expected to attract attention like a black hole to light. The real question is whether anyone will remember to log in before the next market crash.
Today’s update shows Polymarket’s commitment to innovation-or at least to throwing money at problems. Market participants will now watch closely to see if the new system can handle the inevitable surge of people trying to trade during a global crisis. Spoiler: it probably won’t.
