I seriously haven’t stopped thinking about the gameplay from the first season of Dispatch. It wasn’t just the story and choices, which were great, but the actual doing – sending my team out each day to handle problems around the city. I got totally hooked on the strategy and managing everything, and I’ve been desperate for another game that feels like that. Luckily, I found one on Steam! Even better, there’s a demo I can play right now to see if it’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for.

Global Rescue is a simulation game from the creators of City Bus Manager where you build and run your own emergency services headquarters. You’ll manage teams responding to fires, accidents, medical calls, and other crises – all from your computer. It’s similar to the dispatch elements of the game Dispatch, but without the intense story. Global Rescue launched on Steam Early Access on April 27, 2026, and has received very positive reviews. The only thing that would make it even better? If the developer added the awesome 80s infomercial music from Dispatch!

Global Rescue Is Like Dispatch Without the Drama

In Global Rescue, you manage all aspects of an emergency response team. You select a city, construct your base, recruit personnel, and oversee a fleet of police, fire, ambulance, and SWAT units. The core gameplay involves constantly prioritizing and dispatching resources to emergencies while ensuring you have enough backup for whatever happens next. You’ll need to act fast, as situations can quickly escalate, and the game doesn’t have a storyline – it’s purely about maintaining order and preventing your system from being overwhelmed.

Although the gameplay, which is similar to Dispatch, seems fun, the most impressive thing about Global Rescue is that you can pick a real city to be your base of operations. The game builds its maps using detailed, real-world data, letting you choose almost any location – even your hometown! While the results might vary depending on where you live, this is a really creative way to make the game feel more realistic and engaging.

Global Rescue Takes Dispatch’s Gameplay to Another Level of Management

I’m really getting into Global Rescue! It’s not just about constantly taking emergency calls, which is great. When things calm down, I get to build and decorate my own base – it’s so cool to personalize it! I’m keeping all my rescue vehicles in perfect condition, making sure I have enough space for everything – wash bays, parking, garages, the works. There are a ton of vehicles to choose from – American, European, and Asian models, 23 types in total! Plus, I can keep expanding my base by unlocking upgrades as I play, which is awesome.

To run things smoothly, your headquarters needs to be comfortable and well-equipped for your staff, with enough workspace, break areas, and restrooms to help them perform at their best. Proper training is also essential if you want to handle emergencies effectively. Hopefully, managing your team will be easier than dealing with the chaotic Z-Team from Dispatch! Once your base is ready, you can begin responding to emergencies, which will become more complex and demanding as time goes on, requiring you to skillfully balance operations and management.
