In Crimson Desert, the Hidden Ruins of the Quarry is a secret underground area within the Karin Quarry. Players can reach it by completing the “Stolen Quarry” quest for the House Roberts faction, which involves removing a large stone pillar that blocks the entrance.
You can find the Hidden Ruins of the Quarry as early as Chapter 2, but you won’t be able to solve the puzzle inside until Chapter 4. You’ll need to get the Kuku Pot and learn the Focused Force Palm ability first.
Hidden Ruins of the Quarry Puzzle Prerequisites in Crimson Desert
- Requirements: Kuku Pot, Focused Force Palm
To complete the puzzle in the Hidden Ruins of the Quarry, you’ll need to destroy the wall in the underground chamber with the Focused Force Palm ability and then store the resulting item using the Kuku Pot. If you haven’t unlocked either of these abilities yet, it’s best to come back to this area later in the game. You’ll unlock both during Chapter 4 of the main story in Crimson Desert.
How to Unlock the Kuku Pot
You unlock the Kuku Pot early in Chapter 4 of Crimson Desert during the main story quest, Kilnden Workshop. Once you repair the workshop, Grimnir will make a Kuku Pot for you as a gift and have his assistant explain how to use it.
How to Get the Focused Force Palm
Okay, so I was trying to unlock the Focused Force Palm skill, and it took me a bit to figure out! You learn it during Chapter 4, specifically while doing the “Scholastone” quest. Basically, as you’re heading towards Scholastone Institute on the main road, you’ll hit a roadblock. Right in front of that roadblock, there’s a ghostly figure – just watch it, and you’ll learn the skill. It’s west of Fort Perwin, if that helps you find the right spot!
Okay, so I was wandering around Scholomance and totally skipped the main questline at first. That meant I didn’t see the Focused Force Palm ability go down. Luckily, it’s not a permanent loss! I was able to go back to the location marked on the map whenever I wanted and learn it from the ghost there. Phew, that was a relief!
How to Solve the Hidden Ruins of the Quarry Puzzle in Crimson Desert
To enter the Hidden Ruins of the Quarry, jump down into the hole located in the middle of the Karin Quarry.
Continue into the underground room until you find a blue turret that fires explosive projectiles at you.
Disable the turret with Axiom Force. Then, use Axiom Force on it one more time and save whatever’s left over in your Kuku Pot – you’ll receive the Power Core – Casket of Illusions.
Stand facing the wall directly across from the turret. Activate Focus mode by pressing X and L3 simultaneously on PlayStation, or L3+R3 on Xbox. Then, hold down the Force Palm button (Middle Mouse Button on PC, or R3 on PlayStation/Xbox) to enter Focused Force Palm mode.
Aim the Focused Force Palm at the gold circle on the wall, then release to break it.
Use Axiom Force on the Abyss Cell that was powering the wall and Seal it inside the Kuku Pot.
Use Axiom Force to turn off the two turrets in the next room, then trap what’s left inside the Kuku Pot. This will reward you with the Power Core – Spire of Defiance and the Power Core – Crown of Shadows.
When it’s safe, use Axiom Force on the teleporter in the center of the room to get the Abyss Transporter.
How to Use the Abyss Transporter in Crimson Desert
The Abyss Transporter helps you activate incomplete teleport locations in the Crimson Desert. In Pywel, there are just two of these: one is at the Howling Hill camp, close to your customizable house, and the other is in Pailune, near the camp you establish after settling there.
To activate an Abyss Transporter, get rid of it from your Kuku Pot while you’re near the Abyss Nexus. Then, use Axiom Force to move it over the spot where you want it to be – you’ll see a glowing marker. Finally, jump and use Force Palm while standing on the transporter to lock it into place.
