As a huge One Piece fan, it’s been amazing to see how Devil Fruit users have evolved! They used to be super rare, but once the Straw Hats really got into the Grand Line, we started seeing them everywhere, and the powers got seriously strong. Especially in the latest arcs, Oda has introduced so many incredibly powerful users! But honestly, out of all of them, only a handful truly stand out as potential world-shakers, the ones who could really dominate this new era.
8. Kuzan
- Devil Fruit: Hie Hie no Mi
Kuzan, previously known as Admiral Aokiji, is an exceptionally strong fighter. Before the two-year timeskip, he was a highly respected Marine Admiral and a serious candidate to become the Fleet Admiral, demonstrating his immense power. He ate the Hie Hie no Mi, a rare Devil Fruit that allows him to control and become ice.
Kuzan is an incredibly powerful character who can instantly freeze vast areas, even an entire ocean, and defeat enemies by freezing them solid. He’s also a master of Haki, having been trained by the legendary Garp. These abilities make him one of the strongest Devil Fruit users in the One Piece world. A prime example of his power is how he permanently transformed half of Punk Hazard into a frozen, icy landscape.
7. Akainu
- Devil Fruit: Magu Magu no Mi
Akainu used to be a Navy Admiral. After Sengoku retired following the Summit War, Akainu battled and defeated Aokiji, earning the position of Fleet Admiral. He’s considered one of the most powerful Devil Fruit users in the One Piece world. This strength comes from his Magu Magu no Mi, a rare Logia-type Fruit that lets him transform into magma and control it at will.
As a huge One Piece fan, I’m completely blown away by Akainu! He’s seriously one of the strongest Devil Fruit users out there – people say he’s on par with the Yonko, which is insane! His fruit is just devastatingly powerful on its own, but when you add in his incredible Haki, he becomes a truly terrifying opponent, especially as we head into the final part of the story. He’s a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure!
6. Five Elders
- Devil Fruit: Yokai Abilities
In the anime and manga One Piece, the Five Elders are incredibly powerful figures who recently demonstrated their abilities during the Egghead Arc. They are among the strongest characters in the New World and Grand Line, largely due to a special agreement called the Abyssal Contract they have with Nerona Imu. This contract grants them amazing powers, including the ability to endlessly heal, live forever, never age, and possess incredible strength.
Adding to their already impressive abilities, the Elders possess powers similar to the rare Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits. Each Elder transforms into a unique and incredibly powerful form, allowing them to fight on equal footing with, and sometimes even overpower, a Yonko like Luffy. While the full scope of their powers hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s clear they are exceptionally strong and will likely become even more powerful as the story progresses.
5. Boa Hancock
- Devil Fruit: Mero Mero no Mi
Boa Hancock is a remarkably strong character in the world of One Piece, largely due to her Devil Fruit power, the Mero Mero no Mi. This ability lets her turn people to stone using her attractiveness. Essentially, anyone who feels positively towards her can be petrified at her will.
Hancock’s Devil Fruit ability isn’t limited to people; she can also turn objects to stone, or petrify anyone who doesn’t harbor feelings for her, using powers like Perfume Femur. This makes it one of the most dangerous abilities in the One Piece world – so much so that even a powerful pirate like Blackbeard fears facing her, worried about losing a fight.
4. Blackbeard
- Devil Fruit: Gura Gura no Mi, Yami Yami no Mi
Blackbeard is one of the most powerful pirates in the New World, known as a Yonko. He’s considered incredibly strong due to his unique ability to wield two Devil Fruits. The first, the Gura Gura no Mi, is said to be the strongest Paramecia-type, allowing him to create devastating earthquakes. His second, the Yami Yami no Mi, is a Logia-type that lets him absorb almost anything – even light – and completely negate the powers of other Devil Fruits.
While Blackbeard is still developing his Devil Fruit abilities and hasn’t reached his full potential, he’s already proven to be an incredibly powerful fighter in the Grand Line, and his strength is likely to increase even further as the story progresses.

Loki, also known as the Accursed Prince, recently appeared in the Elbaph and is one of the most powerful Devil Fruit users in the world of One Piece. He gained his abilities 14 years ago by consuming the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, which transformed him into a formidable opponent.

Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation makes him unbelievably strong, allowing him to fight on par with powerful opponents like Kaido. He’s now one of the most formidable Devil Fruit users in the Grand Line, largely thanks to awakening the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. A key part of this power is his ability to use his imagination – Luffy can essentially turn anything he imagines into reality, making him incredibly adaptable in battle.
1. Nerona Imu
- Devil Fruit: Akuma no Mi
Many fans believe Nerona Imu is the most powerful Devil Fruit user in the world of One Piece. The Elbaph arc revealed Imu’s unique ability: a Devil Fruit that allows transformation into the Devil itself, or a hybrid Devil-Human form. This makes Imu one of the series’ strongest characters.
Imu possesses magical abilities, including spells, and can even share his powers with others. His most notable ability is Omen, which creates incredibly destructive black flames, and he can also strengthen those who serve him. He’s also capable of using powers like Domi Reversi and Covenants, but that’s still only a small part of his full potential.
