Lost Tales In NTE (How To Find & Solve)

Lost Tales in NTE helps you find hidden mini-quests you might have overlooked. Each character offers a unique task, so there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. You’ll need to pay attention to what each character says to figure out what they need. Some requests are straightforward, like asking for a photo, while others are more puzzling, hinting at secrets or strange occurrences. Sometimes, even after searching thoroughly at the indicated location, at all times of day and in all weather conditions, you might not find anything.

Lost Tales Quest In NTE

Lost Tales, found within the Fortune Telling section of the Witch’s House, involves the Blackbird marking a location on your map with a special icon. Once you reach that spot, it might not be immediately obvious what you’re supposed to do.

Based on what I’ve seen, the ‘Lost Tales’ don’t lead to typical quests. They usually trigger small, random tasks given by non-player characters (NPCs). Sometimes, the quest the game indicates is nowhere to be found, but I’ve managed to complete a few successfully. It’s really annoying when I can’t locate these ‘Lost Tales’ quests, and because many other players have the same problem, I suspect the feature isn’t working perfectly right now.

I’ve noticed that even after I finish a quest, the marker stays on my map. I think it’s probably working as intended – it’s similar to how the Treasure Hunt markers work, which always point me to an Oracle Stone after I’ve already gotten the treasure. Still, it’s a little confusing to have the quest marker still there, and I hope the developers might fix it in a future update.

The Lost Tales simply highlight things that already exist in the game world, so you don’t need to use them to start the mini-quest. They’re more like a helpful tool for finding things you might have overlooked.

The game features short, spontaneous quests given by random characters. These tasks can involve anything from performing an action or taking a photo to finding a specific item or interacting with something in the world. Each quest is unique, and how you complete your ‘Lost Tales’ will depend on the specific character you’re helping. Keep in mind that you might also need to adjust the in-game time, as some characters only appear at certain times of day.

Here are some examples of the Lost Tales I’ve gotten in my playthrough:

I recently unlocked the ‘Day Off’ storyline on a different account, and accidentally missed the chance to earn the ‘World Changer’ achievement. The next day, I was surprised to receive the ‘Curious Kid’ Lost Tales. I’ve discovered you don’t need the special marker for Lost Tales to activate this Easter egg, as I’ve triggered it on another account before without having the marker.

I also discovered something called the Lost Tales at Clement Academy. When I went to the location indicated, I found three students chatting. They were talking about a strange phenomenon called Demon’s Shadow – a frightening shadow that supposedly appears on the buildings north of the school between midnight and sunrise.

You can trigger the Lonely Player Anomaly Commission if you visit the Clement Academy at night.

Okay, so I set the in-game time to midnight and started hunting for this Demon’s Shadow. After finally tracking it down, I managed to defeat it. Then, I headed back to the school first thing the next morning.

The three students and I discussed the fact that the Demon’s Shadow was gone, which meant I’d finished the small task.

I tried the same steps on another account without the Lost Tales marker, and it worked normally.

Essentially, Lost Tales isn’t one big quest, but a way to start a series of small, individual quests given by different characters. Each character will have their own unique task and solution.
