Haragiri was consumed by his desire for power, leading him to sacrifice his own humanity. His ultimate goal is to become skilled enough with a sword to defeat Atomic Samurai in a one-on-one fight.
When Haragiri absorbs a monster cell, he transforms into a Mysterious Being and leaves the Council of Swordmasters. This greatly increases his power and skill with a sword, though he’s still not strong enough to defeat Atomic Samurai. Despite this, he remains incredibly fast, still able to draw and sheathe his blade faster than the speed of sound.
7. Nichirin
Nichirin is a surprisingly strong elderly fighter in One-Punch Man. Despite his age, he can battle incredibly powerful monsters using a katana cane. As the leader of the Council of Swordmasters and the teacher of Spring Mustachio, he’s highly respected, and even Atomic Slash recognizes his impressive swordsmanship.
Nichirin was strong enough to fight Haragiri directly, holding his own without slowing down Atomic Samurai. He even had a technique, Iai Rahu-Ashura Slash, that was similar to Atomic Samurai’s Atomic Slash, delivering a rapid and devastating series of sword attacks. Despite his loss to Fuhrer Ugly, his accomplishments clearly earn him a spot on this list.

6. Speed-o-Sound Sonic
In the series One-Punch Man, Sonic frequently appears as comic relief, largely due to his unwavering ambition to be stronger than Saitama. Though he never succeeds in surpassing Saitama, it’s clear he’s a very powerful fighter – skilled enough to be considered an S-class hero, a fact that even Tatsumaki acknowledges.
Like Empty Void and Flashy Flash, Sonic originated from the Ninja Village, but he wasn’t naturally talented. He steadily improved through hard work, constantly honing both his ninja skills and swordsmanship. This dedication has made him a powerful fighter, able to compete with Flashy Flash.
5. Zombieman
Zombieman isn’t known for his fighting skills in One-Punch Man, but he’s still a powerful S-class hero and a tough opponent. His incredible ability to regenerate means he can recover from almost any injury, even being decapitated or having his body completely torn apart.
What makes Zombieman so effective isn’t just his ability to heal quickly; he’s also a highly skilled fighter with weapons. He typically carries a machete and axe, and keeps various guns hidden in his coat. 4. Drive Knight
Drive Knight is a powerful, top-tier hero who battles with a sword. While he has other weapons like missiles, he usually fights using a sword, and he’s even capable of creating swords out of thin air.
Even though Drive Knight doesn’t have a lot of energy, he’s far from helpless. He’s one of the most adaptable heroes in One-Punch Man, able to change his fighting style to suit whoever he’s facing.
3. Flashy Flash
Flashy Flash is an S-class hero famous for his incredible speed and laid-back attitude. While he’s one of the fastest characters in the series – even Saitama recognizes it – he doesn’t always make the best choices in battle.
I first saw Flashy Flash and honestly, he looked like some kind of refined swordsman. But appearances can be deceiving – he’s a fully trained shinobi, and a dangerous one at that. He was responsible for the terrible massacre at the Ninja Village. He fights with a katana, but it’s not just swordsmanship; he combines it with ninjutsu. He’s incredibly fast, able to unleash attacks like ‘Flash Slash’ and ‘Heavy Flash Slash’ that can cut down opponents before they even realize what’s happening.
2. Atomic Samurai
Atomic Samurai is already one of the most powerful S-Class heroes thanks to his mastery of the Sun Blade. However, if he ever finds the Moon Blade, he could become an even more skilled swordsman and break through his current boundaries.
Even without his signature Sun and Moon Blades, Atomic Samurai is widely considered the most skilled swordsman on the planet. His mastery is such that any object – even something as small as a toothpick – becomes dangerous in his grip. A single swing of his blade generates shockwaves powerful enough to feel like a nuclear explosion.

Atomic Samurai is famous as the world’s best swordsman, but Empty Void is considered the greatest ninja ever. Surprisingly, Empty Void is actually the better with a blade. His special technique, Dimensional Slash, lets him cut through space itself, warping and splitting anything he hits.
Empty Void has an impressive track record, eliminating over 100,000 targets throughout his career as a ninja assassin. He’s also incredibly powerful, easily defeating even very strong, disaster-level monsters with a single strike, proving his skill as both a ninja and a swordsman.
