The lawsuit argues that Dua Lipa’s face is the main focus of the packaging, covering most of the box. The image used is from a previous advertising campaign she did with a different company, and both she and that company own the rights to it. This is the basis of the claim that copyright laws have been violated.
Dua Lipa’s lawyers argue the document falsely suggests she supports or is connected to the televisions in question.
This isn’t the first time Dua Lipa has had a problem with Samsung using her image without permission. She first noticed it in June 2025 when the company used her face on TV boxes. She asked them to stop using her photos and copyrighted material, but Samsung allegedly refused. After a year of trying to resolve the issue, Dua Lipa has now filed a lawsuit.
Her lawyers argue that she has commercial value thanks to her successful music career and partnerships with major brands like Puma, Versace, YLS Beauty, Apple, and Chanel.
