The Epic Games Store is now giving away free copies of the game Sunderfolk and a collection of Batman content for PC players. You can claim these freebies on the Epic Games Store until May 21st.
As a big fan of the Epic Games Store, I’ve gotten used to knowing a week in advance what free games they’re giving away. They usually stick to that schedule, but things got interesting in May 2026! When they launched Trash Goblin and Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure on May 7th, they didn’t announce the next week’s freebies like they normally do. Instead, they just hinted that two mystery games would be coming on May 14th, which was a fun change of pace!
Epic Starts New Mystery Game Giveaway with $80 Worth of Freebies, Including Batman: The Telltale Series

What Is The Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition?
The Telltale Batman: Shadows Edition is an updated collection of Telltale’s two Batman adventure games. It includes both Batman: The Telltale Series and Batman: The Enemy Within, along with a new “Shadows Mode” that gives the games a darker, more film-noir look. Telltale calls this the definitive version of their Batman series, featuring all ten episodes with hand-recolored visuals. Both games have received “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, based on feedback from many players. Fans and critics have praised them for their realistic take on the Batman story and for focusing heavily on Bruce Wayne’s character, with some calling them among the best Batman games ever made.
What Kind of Game Is Sunderfolk?
Released in April 2025, Sunderfolk is a one-of-a-kind indie game that combines elements of tabletop and video games. It’s a cooperative, turn-based tactical RPG for up to four players, playable with a mouse and keyboard or a mobile app. The game’s story revolves around the town of Arden, which is endangered by a strange, corrupting influence called Shadowstone. Players choose animal-inspired heroes, work together in turn-based combat, improve their village between quests, and customize their team with ability cards and equipment. As of May 2026, Sunderfolk has received “Very Positive” reviews on Steam, similar to the popular Batman bundle from Telltale.

Epic Games will continue giving away free games on May 21st with two new titles. Unlike some previous giveaways, this week’s selections don’t seem to follow a particular theme. Epic is anticipated to go back to announcing free games ahead of time around June 2026.
