
Housemarque recently released a new update for Saros, their third-person roguelite shooter. This is the third update the game has received since its April 30th launch on PlayStation 5.
Despite selling around 300,000 copies and potentially facing financial challenges, the game Saros has received very positive reviews from critics. It currently boasts an average score of 87 from top critics and a 91% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Our own Dalton Cooper awarded Saros a 9 out of 10, highlighting its easy-to-learn gameplay, engaging boss battles, and exciting combat, though he noted some repetition in the game.
Saros Gets a New Update for May 13
Saros has received three updates since its release over the past few weeks. The first, on May 5th, improved gameplay by making bullet bounces more accurate and adjusting damage for the Powered Dash Artifact. Just two days later, a second update fixed some design problems, including a bug where a door wouldn’t open in the Cathedral area and missing visuals in the game’s opening section.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update on Saros. We got another patch dropped on May 13th – it’s version 01.004.002. This one mostly squashes some bugs that were messing with progress. Specifically, they fixed a weird glitch where enemies could heal themselves from outside the battle area in certain zones, plus an elevator issue where you could clip through things. They also smoothed out the transition between the Shepherd and Priestess boss fights, and fixed a rare crash that happened if you manually reset your cycle while in the Yellow Shore. Hopefully, this makes the game a lot smoother for everyone!
The recent update also fixed a problem with two of Saros’ trophies, ‘Vincible’ and ‘Untouchable’. ‘Vincible’ requires players to finish a Saros biome without using their shield, and ‘Untouchable’ challenges them to complete a biome without taking any direct damage (other than Corruption damage) and while maintaining their Adrenaline streak. According to Housemarque, the update ensures these trophies now unlock correctly.
