Players are also disappointed by the limited number of anniversary loot boxes—only 15, with just 5 containing legendary skins. Adding to the frustration, the event doesn’t offer any way to earn gold shards, mythic skins, or the shards needed to unlock them.
Overwatch Director Promises Changes for the 10th Anniversary Event
Fans strongly reacted to the recent 10th-anniversary event in Overwatch, prompting game director Aaron Keller to respond on social media. He acknowledged the criticism, agreeing that rewards shouldn’t be limited to lootboxes. Blizzard is now increasing the number of community lootboxes available in the coming weeks – doubling them in Week 2 and tripling them in Week 3 – and making it easier to earn all rewards by reducing the number of games needed to 60.
